Today on Fox News Bob Barker was interviewed about the Vick charges and gave a wonderful interview about the situation and wants all Americans to get busy while the outcry is at the top now, and put dog fighting to a stop. Report it to authorities if you know of a fight or if you see people going to a fight...It is a crime and is one of Americas million dollar underground criminal activities.

Horrible..

Fox has opened its emails to our opinion   of ,  " If Vick is found guilty, what punishment to you think he should get...?"

Tried responding three times and system would not let me so I hope it's not just repearting this.  I'm going to divide post into two to see if length is the problem.

PLEASE PLEASE people be careful of who and what you promote inadvertently. Bob Barker is a major ANIMAL RIGHTS Activist. He is being used in California to push the AB1634 agenda (see www.saveourdogs.net).  I do NOT want nor need him to speak on any animal issue for me. We need to have our own voice and challenge the use of him as a spokesperson on animal issues. I find it highly inappropriate that he is being promoted on a board devoted to that which he wants to eliminate.

There is a very simple answer to the Vick mess and this is it - 46 states have felony laws against dog fighting (for ex here in CA it is a felony punishable by jail time AND a $50,000 fine). Let's enforce the laws we have before we get hysterical about creating new ones and restricting animal ownership. Please see the item here about the Vick case - very good advice .  http://www.iwclubofamerica.org/club_news.htm

Understand that this is a typical bogus ploy by HSUS and the AR groups to use a case like this to generate money and hysteria. 1. They do not care about these dogs they are a means to money for them. Please note the little asterix on their site saying that the money won't necessarily be used to help THESE dogs but to promote legislation to prevent it in the future. HELLO We have the laws - enforce them!  2. They can NOT care for these dogs. The dogs are now EVIDENCE in a felony case and the responsibility of that animal control jurisdiction AND if the jurisdiction is like most ultimately these dogs will be destroyed because usually there is an ordinance requiring that because it has been found that fighting dogs can not be rehabilitated.

We need to start challenging people's perception of this situation and how the animal rights movement exploits it for their agenda. Unfortunately for far too long too many people have been suckered in by their appeals to help the "kitties and puppies" when all they are helping is themselves to our money because we really truly care about animals. May I suggest a really good book " Hijacking of the Humane Movement".

These will give you an idea the amount of moola and how far the spider has spread its web Peta   http://www.activistcash.com/organization_overview.cfm   HSUS http://www.activistcash.com/organization_overview.cfm/oid/136
I love this quote from this author  http://www.arbreptiles.com/extremists.shtml
"The Humane Society of the United States is a much more subtle but equally as dangerous animal rights group. I once saw a very fitting analogy, the difference between PeTA and the HSUS is like the difference between a mugger and a con man - they both steal your money but they have different tactics, and a different timetable. PeTA is a mugger that tries to force its agenda quickly through propoganda and violence, while the HSUS is a con man who is slowly infiltrating government and society looking for a long term realization of the same goals."

KEEP IN MIND THIS IS OFTEN OUR MONEY THEY ARE USING AGAINST US. The revolution starts NOW - send this information to at least one other dog/cat/bird/horse person you know. Make sure your family members are NOT donating to these groups. We can NO longer think they are part of the animal community. BE VERY VERY CLEAR ON THIS -They are not. Go out and do some research and you will so see that the true agenda of AR is the ELIMINATION of domesticated animals. They use animals as a means to political power and money - they generally have no love of animals. They are the true exploiters of animals for money and power and we need to start labeling them as such.

Animal "welfare" has been co-opted by the AR movement so you HAVE to be very very careful. This is another must read which spells out the difference between animal rights and welfare - http://www.pet-law.com/future/foreword.html

Bob Barker made a statement that its too late to help the poor animals here, that could have made pets or adopted by people, so how in the world do you feel he is against owning a pet..He has pets on his show every month and pets them and asks people to see the adoption assoc. after the show to take one of these great pets home with you....

I did not post this to honor a cause to abolish animals or the breeding of them  . Until some one, else shows me concrete proof that Bob Barker wants to take away my right to breed, I won't get all out of joint...

I'll ask him myself what he believes..

He is against dogs running wild from unwanted pregnancies and poluting out streets with puppies and dogs that create a nuisance..There is a vast difference in that belief and stopping the breeding of registered and proper breeding.

vkfgsd, i've recommended "the hijacking of the humane movement" by patti strand a couple of times on diff posts. one of the probs is that i think it's out of print. i see it on amazon or ebay, but the price is getting very hi ($40 or so for a paperback) i had 2, loaned one and it disappeared and now can't find the other. i agree w/you about checking into who ever is behind some of the celebrities. he may just really be speaking on his own behalf. i know that peta and other animal rights activists really DON'T like patti strand and her book. maybe it's possible to get another edition of it published? would you know how to get in touch w/patti strand or the publisher? like i said, i can't find my other copy to look anything up and $40 seems a bit high for a used paperback. i'm all for the spay/neuter of mutts, but i do think that we have the laws, we just need to have pols with the balls to enforce them.

There was an article in my local paper today saying that Baltimore has launched a dog fighting task force. "City police plan to crack down on dogfighting saying the often cruel proctice is part of a criminal culture that includes drug dealing and illegal gambling.....Dogfighting has been popular for years in Baltimore, police say with fights held in rowhouse basements out of sight of neighbors and police. Losing dogs are sometimes shot or hanged...The task force was launched a day after Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick pleaded not quilty to federal dogfight-related charges....Vick's indictment has promoted protests against the NFL and placed dogfighting  under scrutiny".

Duh, why wasn't this done years ago in Baltimore?  I know for a fact that tin the 80's authorities in that city were very aware that there was a dog theft ring operating there and here in southern PA that provided dogs to be used to train the pits. Maybe they are "under scrutiny" now? This is just the tip of the iceberg, folks. IMO there will be many more surprises coming and we might be shocked to see who are named in the indictments.

Blitzen: Part of the American problem is that when you have stars with in excess of 180 million dollars, he can buy and own every Judge, attorney and leo from a to z and that how organized crime works...

Vick and others like him, have homes in 6 cities, and one by Alabama K9, and they can move from one to the other to hide anything they want...In this case, FBI< must have well informed by someone...

Yellow Rose, Bob Barker IS against breeding, he was an adamant proponent FOR AB1634 here in California which would severely affect breeders and breeding. While he did do the spay/neuter/pet thing on his show, he also went along with the animal RIGHTS people on this law which really would have taken out many of the responsible breeders in california and left us with mostly puppy mill breeders or out of state or country dogs. You can read about what this law would have done at www.saveourdogs.net (though it's still not over yet, the law was only tabled and will be coming back according to Levine who introduced the bill). Bob Barker was adamantly for the bill. All I can say is Thank HEAVENS for Lassie who was lobbying at the capital at the same time Bob Barker was! Anyways, believe what you want, but he's been pretty open about this one....

by Blitzen on 29 July 2007 - 13:07

After Levine tabled his lunatic bill, Barker admitted in a press interview that he really didn't know much about the bill.
