I don't know what's happen with my female . She was in heat since 10 days and during the night she becomes anxious .
I though maybe it was the good day for breeding so i go to the vet to check the progesterone rate. It was not the good day.
she has been mated a few days after. It was last week-end. but since a few days,it has started again. When the night comes, she becomes anxious. I don't know what to do for her. Have you ever heard something like that ?

Some of them just need some extra tender loving care when in season, not to worry
just either give her the TLC or put her in her crate I would opt for the TLC
reassure her, it's just hormones. A female being a female.

Often times, a female's behavior changes during heat cycle. You can't always judge how she will react in each heat cycle based on the previous cycle, as hormones, environment, experience and such change. She could have wind of a male nearby, or more anxious since the breeding. Additionally, some females stop accepting the male for a day or two in the cycle, then start again accepting the male, that could be it too.
My youngest female was recently bred. All of her heat cycles previously, were unremarkable. This time around, she was more intense with everything. Her protective side became stronger, and this was before she was actually bred. Since the breeding (which was her first time) she has continued to be more intense, more keep away from my territory. We have also had more coyotes in the area at night which may make her a bit more on guard. To humans she knows she is still sweet and lovable. BUT, I won't have her near any dogs, or even the pack we have at home. She is still very bitchy, and this is 20 days after her first breeding. I am hoping this is a sign that the breeding took. We just don't know, as this was her first breeding. Could be she is just upset that my stud hasn't called her since the last breeding.

My girl is in heat right now, and Beckett is a teen-age boy dog...he so-o-o-o wants at her, and of course we won't let him, so my girl is not acting bitchy or cranky like I thought she would, God knows Beck's constant heh-heh-heh-heh-heh-heh type of whining is getting on MY nerves, but she is, instead, clingy! needy! hanging on my leg every secong I'm around! Head in my lap with a big sigh, like "fix this, please?" Poor girl, do they get cramps like women do? That's what she reminds me of..."I don't feel good, I'm on my period!"LOL jo

mine gets all clingy too. cept she seemed all hormonal the whole time in between cycles! uggghhhh. she's due to be in probably within a couple of weeks and is starting to act a bit more normal for her. she doesn't get bitchy luckily.
