Do tell me why if you are feeding a complete food you think there is a need to add anything to it??I was led to understand these"complete" foods had everything in them!!

I've heard that egg shells are undigestable. I would avoid them.

Skippy, on my other thread I had posted that my pup is not taking to Royal Canin very well. Thats the best food I have access to for now.
So to intice him I was thinkling if I can add little bit of raw liver/ or raw egg complete. What do you suggest. Is mixing raw meat with kibble a good idea??
please advise
thx

Corn is undigestable, egg shell is calcium, not going to hurt the dog. I throw my dogs boiled or raw egss all the time.
Skippy, God help you if you feed Skippy Brand dog food. Just because the dog food bag "says" it's complete, doesn't mean squat. I havn't read a bag yet that doesn't say as much. However doesn't make it true.

I have chickens, and they give me eggs daily - for me, my family, and the dogs. The dogs get their eggs (shell and all) raw, each dog about 3-4 eggs weekly. It's great for them - as an addition/supplement to raw diet, or kibble.

Does this mean dogs cannot get salmonella like humans can from raw eggs?
by eichenluft on 26 July 2007 - 20:07
well my eggs are fed on the day they come out of the chicken, so I'm not worried about salmonella. The eggs I eat are refridgerated on the day they come out of the chicken - eggs are pretty safe as is raw meat as long as it's handled properly and refridgerated.

Vikram
You should not feed raw and Kibble together the digestion times are totally different, and in answer to another assumption I do not feed Skippy brand anything I feed totally raw and have done for over 10 years now and the results are absolutely astounding plus "I" know EXACTLY what food goes into my dogs,
