There's an add for black shepherd puppies, the parents seem a bit young yet. Do people still purposely breed their dogs that young after all the education on here?

My question was based also on the same wonder...On the ad for the solid black and black and silver litter due late July...I looked up Southern Illinois Shepherds, and the web says that a dog named "gunnar" was the sire and he had two more litters on board for sale, with different females, and he was born on July 13, 2005. That means only a week ago , her turned two, and had no ofa , that I could see. , or a reference to a Prelim ofa?
Is this normal for breeders advertising here.?

This is the one I posted on a different thread, about Black and Silver. When I checked further I found the male to be the sire and dob is July 13, 2005 and already a sire of other litters.

I am new to this and really am interested in how to raise and breed exceptional german shepherd dogs. There are no real guarantees in life for us or our dogs but I do appreciate selective breeding to improve the health and well being of our animals. I see that most of you all are very knowledgeable and I desire to learn more and do what it takes to raise quality shepherds.
This is the first I have found this website and have learned alot just today. I was doing a search regarding Kraftwerks and this site came up but in the last 3 years this is the first time I have found it.
I am the person with the black shepherd pups and had been given prior information from breeders in my area about the age to breed a dog. I realize now that the OFA certification can't be done until 2 years which makes sense to wait to breed until then. Hindsight is a great thing! My vet does OFA cert but did not offer me a pre-cert and am waiting now for 2 month waiting period.
I am learning, but welcome any and all information I can get to help me do things right.

clewsk9s, I am glad to hear you're open to learning. You do have some nice dogs but may want to consider stepping back and learning more before breeding again? You're probably figuring out that many here believe OFA or SV a stamps as well as titling are a must before breeding. Have you found a club to train with yet? That would be a good start.
