Kalibeck

I hope you will forgive me if I ask a few stupid questions.....

1) Why do GSDs always find it neccesary to offer assistance when you're in the bathroom?

2) Why do they take their smelliest/slimiest/crumbliest treat to the rug to eat it?

3) How come a well trained GSD, who never jumps on anyone, will jump up on the one visiter who's afraid of dogs?

4) Why do they wait until you are dressed for work, in dark pants, to come over and lean in for a very furry hug?

5) How come my GSDs will wait until I only have 1 hour to nap before my night shift, then whine to go out, and take 45 minutes sniffing to find the right spot to do their business?

6) How come, when something is knocked over in the kitchen (read whole floor covered with water), will I find 2 dogs both innocently lying in their crates, trying really hard not to look at my face???

If anyone out there has the answers to these questions, please share! Thanks, jackie osborne

very funny. i had a jack russell who would come in while i was in the bathroom and jump up on my lap facing me. my gsd barges in (the door bangs against the wall) and checks to make sure i'm fine, then either lays down close by or sits on my feet til i'm done. when i had cats they'd do the same thing - maybe animals don't think we do it right. our gsd always barges in on my husband and leans against the back of his legs til he's done too. we try to make sure guests close the door tightly! and i've noticed our dogs who do not jump on people normally, will always jump on the person who is the "tidiest" or the most wary of dogs. this is after we've put them in a sit or down stay. but, you know, they've never jumped on a little kid! selective obnoxious behavior i guess. and my gsd, after a rare occasion to dress up, will walk by me and leave some kind of dirt or slime on me. luckily, we just laugh it off (altho, if it was husband he slimed, it probably wouldn't be so funny!) dogs, you gotta love em.

LMFAO

That was absolutely great. One of our female GSD is to the T like you described. She has extreme OCD she will even stick her head in to watch you shower. Hmmmm maybe she is just a voyer lolololol j/k!

sometimes my 14 year old son will shower in our downstairs bathroom which has a door to the outside w/doggy door. he'll close the bathroom door, but if he forgets to close the doggy door, the gsd and bel mal will wait til he's in the shower and then sneak in a watch him. it always freaks him out, but he'd die before he'd let one of us get the dogs out. dogs must be a little kinky!

If my hubby leaves the bathroom door open, his dog runs upstairs and jumps into the shower with him!

All three of my dogs will come into the doorway (thanks to the head bang technique) and sit and watch me go. I'm so glad I went through boot camp and don't have "performance anxiety" about toileting in front of others.

Where did you meet my dogs? Have you been in Germany during the last years?
