Baden could care less just like any other day. Piston is a bit more energetic and barked at the noise wanting to kill the fireworks. Then it got old and she quit barking, "thank God!" My old male, Trick hates loud noises and I crated him in the garage, rather than have him Freddy Kruger my windows all night. My daughters bitch, Bax never cares about noises, she goes with me when I shoot out at my friends ranch. She is my retriever gal and brings me the clay pigeons I miss that don't break on impact. Both of us where asleep by 9:45pm.
I was ready to crate the pups inside, not knowing how they would take it but there wan't a need. I'm a happy camper now that this is all over.

Rikka couldn't have cared less. Her bedtime is at 9:00 PM so she was already crated when the noise started. THe only sound I heard from her all night was her normal "lemme out I gotta pee" bark at about 11:00.

The noise did not bother the older male pup (15 months) and the younger pup (5 months) was not scared it just got his attention. Ears erect and listening to where the sound was coming from. They were too buy munching on their knuckle bones. I enjoyed watching the fireworks display coming from the lake. Kinda nice sitting in my own back yard watching.

Blitz will be 6 in December and this is the first year that he's shown any reaction to the noise of the fireworks the kids were setting off. My first GSD was the same way, not a problem as a younger dog, but when he reach 5 or 6, he didn't like the noise much.

Chaos did awesome. He was right there watching the biggg fireworks for our local town. The first big BOOM got his attention and he pulled back a little, but I encouraged him with lots of cheetos! Pretty soon he was laying on the blanket eating cheetos and watching the big fireworks. No problem.

No probs here either. With the big local fireworks going off. Then we got lucky because it started to downpour so none of the locals were shooting theirs off. Therefore, better sleep for us.

Pretty good here! Yette slept thru most of them, she never seems to hear them, Ivan seemed a bit nervous panted , paced some then laid down and went to sleep, Tiva I locked in a bedroom. Poor girl is in heat, she was glad when I came to bed but seemed none worse for the wear hormonal and all . Xtra is 7 months today, when they started popping she would jump on this day bed and watch the sparks out the window in the living room. She always sleeps in my room so when I went up she came in with me and Tiva. Me and her laid on the bed looking out the window at the pretty colored sparks! Man some of them are really loud these days! I bet my neighbors spent a fortune.

My neighbor behind me also must've dropped a $1000.00 or more on fireworks...I was a little anxious for my pups when I realized how close our personal display would be...(not to mention a little pissed!) I needn't have been. My 3 year old bitch totally ignored it while she was in the house, when I took her out, she barked a couple of times, they were setting off those long strings of Chinese firecrackers right at the edge of our property.....then she was cool, stood there tipping her head back & forth like a puppy; my 8 month old boy looked & looked, sniffed the air, came over to me & put his head on my knee & watched them from there, like ' if it's OK with you, mom, it's OK with me'. Good doggies! JO

My old (nearly nine years) Fero grandaughter is normally fearless, and the entire pack is gunfire-conditioned. That said, the old one did have an issue with it as I too had a neighbour who had a seemingly inehaustable supply of fireworks. Big ones. She puked twice, became very agitated and kept trying to get in my lap and paced the house. I placed her in a quiet room with my wife, who was asleep, but she did not want to stay there. I had not seen this type of behaviour before, and wonder if it is age-related to some degree. While I doubt that, it did make for a stressful hour or so.

our gsd, angus seemed to enjoy the fireworks. he's almost 14 mos. personal fireworks are illegal here, but we're w/in a few miles of a lot of hi schools and colleges. we could see them front yard and back. angus sat on my feet and just watched. we have to give our bel mal mix a couple of sedatives cuz she really doesn't like the noise. we're also on a golf course and on weekends in spring and summer there are alot of weddings/receptions w/ great fireworks displays. angus has no problems and claire hates them. she was fine last summer tho. she's only about 20 mos now, but she's reacting badly to them now. she just stayed in the den w/our 14 yr old son (who's too cool right now for fireworks) and they were happy.
