the breeder offered me the brother which is very high quality as well, problem is my kids are
very attached to the dog we have but they all want to get the brother and show him and keep the other
as a pet....good idea to keep two males together one is going to be fixed

You should be able to pull this off, especially since the pet male is getting fixed. As long as you stay on top of the situation and give each dog the time and attention he needs this can work out. Many of the folks on this board have multiple dogs that share house time with the family unit.
Best wishes!

One that always gets lots of opinions. Personally I've always had 2 intact males without a problem whatsoever. That doesn't mean to say I left them to sort any problems that may have surfaced. I always kept a close eye on them in the beginning.
I've always had an age gap too. At the moment I have a SchH3 at 7 years old and a 12 month old puppy. This age gap is more than I'm used to. Usually it's about 3 or 4 years. Having said that the older males temperament is superb and could live with a crocodile, despite his drive when the switch is flicked.
So, for me it can, and has, many times worked.

Our one intact male shares the yard with our two neutered males all the time. The only time it's ever an issue is when one of the neutered males snaps at a female. We can't have a female in the yard when the intact male is there, he protects her from the others.

As was already said yes it can be done, just monitor things closley in the beginning. A lot will depend on the dog's individual pesonalities as well. We have 3 males and 1 female living fine together. We also have age gaps though. 2 of my males are retired seniors and the other is our youngest with a 3 year gap on the female. The young male is the only one who is intact.

I have an intact male and a neutered male that were introduced when they were 4 and 5 years old. I've never had any problems (actually was more worried about my super dominant bitch w/ him) but my neutered male is very submissive and my intact male is a saint. It works with them but I'd definitley be careful, it can get ugly fast and at 7 mos they are going through alot of hormonal changes.

doesnt work at my place two males cant be together...always have one female out with one male......I have the bite marks to prove mine wont work....and its not anything I did or didnt do...I cant change the minds of a Tiekerhook , a korbelbach or an Enclavehof male....only God could do that......they dont like each other ., in fact they hate each other.....and would kill one another if not seperated....
