The Town Manager said; The Selectmen met, a motion was made, seconded and that they unanimously voted to ban dogs from the park. The Town Manager said he spoke on my behalf. Bottom line is that I was slam-dunked. They precluded me from participating in the democratic process as if I did not exist. That got me the angriest. I cannot have a voice in my local government where I pay taxes??? Two weeks later, I attended the Selectman Meeting. Prior to going, I asked where it was being held. I was told that it was on the second floor and there was no elevator. No handicapped accessibility. I told the Town Manager that I would probably have difficulty with the stairs and that he would need to move the meeting to a place that was handicap accessible. They were using the upstairs meeting room because it was big enough to accommodate the anticipated turnout because it was an election night. When I got there they were still going to have the meeting upstairs. The Town Manager called the meeting to order in his office with just me and the Selectmen. Now I know how a Chuwawa (Don't know the spelling) feels walking into a room full of Rottweilers. The office was not big enough to accommodate the turnout thereby keeping people out of the loop. The meeting was cut short and put on the June 28th agenda for the Selectmen Meeting. They were all apprised of my status as a PWD and given the card depicting my rights and my dogs’ rights. I also gave them a pamphlet published by the USDOJ on what is expected and mandated for small towns to adhere to in order to be in compliance with the
