What is most important to you when selling your precious pups? A good home, or a Show home? When most people inquire about a pup, are they looking for pets 100% of the time? I would think a good home would be the MOST important.

I would rather get my dog from a GOOD home.

Dawn,
I guess that depends. For most (including myself), that will be the best possible home for each puppy. Sometimes that best home for a specific pup IS a show home, and sometimes it's not. If I had to choose between a bad show home or a good home, obviously I would choose the good home.
What I find interesting is that the assumption here is that a show home is not a good home.
Not everyone is looking for a pet, but the majority are.
If I had a really nice male that I thought could go VA, I would want show homes for his puppies, so that I could get a progeny group together.

Nothing wrong with Showing (Added icing on the cake),provided that there is good training, and trainers in the area that you live, and the pup is started out in the right direction. How many pups that had potential, have been ruined by so called good trainers?

Dawn,
As a breeder of "show Line" dogs.........the absolute BEST home, that one of our special puppies could be fortunate to be forever loved in....would be a great show home....BUT most importantly, yesterday, today and tomorrow......a wonderful, loving home is the MOST we could ever want....period.

Breeders waqnt show homes for their better pups in the hope that their breedings get recognized in the dog world. Breeders of course want good homes for all of their pups obviously. I would assume that almost every show home is also a good home. I am absolutely positive that every good home is a good home. The question you pose does not really make sense.
My guess is that most who visit this site will state that they want a good "working" home for their pups.
Here we go again with working vs. show. Hey, I just thought of something. Would your typical working line dog be considered "blue collar" and the typical show line dog be considered "white collar"?

A good home. Which as was pointed out could easily be the show, or working, home.

Is this really a valid question? A good home is a good home. Working, showing, pet or whatever.......a loving, safe home should be top priority.

I want my puppies to go to show homes. There is nothing better than a pretty dog and a gay handler.
