it's not dog shampoo but I use Pantene shampoo + conditioner on all of my dogs (when they get shampoo-baths which is not often), horses and other animals - and myself!  I think it works the best.

Try Pet Silk - I got mine from Taunya Mravik of Eurosportk9.com it is the best stuff I have ever used.  I would almost say amazing and it smells really great.

I personally hate the smell of any shampoo on my dogs’ fur. I just use a mild soap to wash them – it rinses very easily and only leaves a hint of it’s sent. Some shampoos are tricky to rinse well, especially off the thick GSD coat.

Use this

Once a year if needed.

I would never use anything but this.

Best ever,

Happy Washing,

ahem....I use a non-shampoo item to bathe my dogs in....works better than any shampoo I've ever used (and I've worked for 2 different grooming kennels and a large show kennel of labs and cavaliers)  Never tried this on a hair breed of dog or on silky spaniel type coats so I'm not sure how it does on them, but this stuff is WONDERFUL for GSD coats!  I learned this trick from an old-timer pointer guy.

Murphy's Oil Soap

Yep....thats the stuff,  the stuff has never been officially tested on animals so they cannot mention on their bottle anything about it being safe.  But I've tried it on myself (and anyone out there who's been in horses long enough has also sure to have had this stuff slathered all over their hands too).  It is not irritating in the least bit and it does not hurt your eyes or nose at all if you accidentally get some in there (I accidentally had murphy's oil soap/water solution splashed in my face before, and the fellow who told me about it said he tested it on himself (which I would never do...) before bathing his dogs in it and it did not sting).

Why I love it?

Leaves a light, long-lasting natural woody scent

Does not have the chemical sudsing agents that are known to seep toxic chemicals into the bloodstream

when bathing the dog you can tell by touch where the stuff is and where it isn't, so you know what needs more

It rinses out incredibly easy and fast, and you can feel where it's gone and where it isn't.   I have never used a shampoo that rinses out better than this stuff

leaves the coat bright and shiny and adds a lil more texture to the coat so it looks like a better show-coat

It really does clean all the dirt out! I've bathed dogs that were caked in mud with it and it got it all out, no need for repeat shampooing!

It is entirely non-irritating and as far as I know, hypo-allergenic, my older 12 yr old female gets very irritated very easily from shampoo, even oatmeal shampoo and medicated non-itching shampoos.  she will scratch and scratch and get bald spots when bathed with regular shampoo, however when I tried this stuff on her she didn't have a single problem!  no scratching, no bald spots and her coat looked better than it ever had the first time I used it.

Does not dry out coats or skin!!!!!

And...one of my most favorite attributes of this stuff........it actually helps a dog hold it's coat!  most shampoos and conditioners out there will cause a dog to shed profusely after it's bath, and in many cases a dog can lose that thick coat needed for the show ring.  but not with Murphy's oil soap!

I have not tried this stuff on the following...so have no idea how it does.

Skunk spray, gum, tar, grease, silky spaniel coats, hair-type coats.

Also, my favorite conditioning spray of all time....Kenic Kalaya emu oil spray (this is specifically made for dogs...) Incredible stuff, use it on a daily bases for one week and the coat takes on a wonderful textured show coat look.  not greasy at all, leaves a very pleasant light clean scent unlike any other scent I've ever smelled, love it.   Works great on all coat types.

Hope this helps!

I've had wonderful luck with ProGlo, they sell it at www.petedge.com  Smells good and gives the coat a really nice body and shine. That website has a great shampoo variety.

I love Murphy's too, have used it on my dogs for many years. I gotta get me some of that emu spray.  Blitz isn't a show dog, but he's very much into himself, so I think he'd like to try that.

On my own dog, to help with the shedding I use Tropic Deshed shampoo and solution then follow with Refurbish. This is a shedding bath to help remove the winter shed in spring. For a general bath I use Euca-Leuca-Lime, which is  better than oatmeal for dry skin and helps relieve the itch and damage from chewing or scratching at mosquito bites etc. I follow up with Refurbish to help with the regular shedding. You can find them at petedge.com

I forgot to add, all of these products are 100% natural with no chemicals at all.
