My 6 month pup loves to chew on fabric. Today she tore up her nice fleece pad that lines her crate, and swallowed some of it. Then, of course, she threw it up, along with a good part of her breakfast!
When the fleece is being washed, I line the crate with a large bath towel folded up, but she's taken to chewing on that, too.
Any suggestions as to what I can do, beyond giving her lots of chew toys? The last one I left in the crate with her got demolished, and she swallowed bits of the rubber, or whatever it was the toy was made from. I don't give her fabric chew toys, for obvious reasons!

What about a black Kong as a chew toy? Possibly with some peanut butter stuffed in. Or a large frozen meaty marrow bone? Will keep her occupied for a few hours.
I had a similar problem – my dog’s towels and blankets always had nicely spaced out holes in them, looked like we are raising a hamster, not a dog.

Won't the dog get calluses on the elbow then?

Ours have no bedding in the crates, the girls will chew up anything in there. Or anything that happens to get a corner through the wire......

dawgs, thanks for the link! But the price....OUCH!!
And no, she's only crated at night and when I go out somewhere.
Now the hot weather's here, the dogs seem to prefer the cold, hard floor to a nice soft bed anyway!

We don't use anything to lay on either. Young dogs don't need beds. I reserve those for the old respectful dogs, who no longer have teeth to chew.
