You see this is what happens when dogs become addicted to drugs.  They lose all motivation to work & just want to lay around getting stoned.

sueincc if you have nothing decent to say or no advice to give then please keep out of it this dog is in a terrible state and needs help not some idiot trying to be clever on this site

the dog needs to be under a vet's care if he is not already. They should do a drug screen to see what drugs he is testing positive for and then be treated accordingly. At the very least I would think they would sedate him so he doesn't hurt himself or others. Treating a drug addicted dog isn't much different than treating a drug addicted person. You need a vet involved.

Please accept my apologies, Amon Ra, I didn't know you were being serious.  I hope the dog recovers.  Not too long ago, a friend  was telling me many people are of the belief that law enforcement agencies actually train drug detection dogs by addicting them to drugs,  which of course they don't do.  I was thinking of that conversation when I made my insensitive post.   Again, I apologize & applaud your efforts to help this poor dog.

Hiya Amon Ra, I ve only just read your post on this poor dog and its a shame that you havent had any replies from british gsd people, if  the dogs owners are eligible for help from the PDSA i.e. in receipt of housing benefit, council tax benefit etc. I would recommend you get the dog to them as soon as possible, this poor dog really needs treatment. If not eligible for PDSA treatment try to get private vet. treatment as soon as poss. as it sounds like this poor dog needs help real quickly, I would have real concerns about this dog, remember you can phone the RSPCA AND YOU DONT HAVE TO LEAVE YOUR NAME! Its heartbreaking to see what some dogs have to go through so try and do what you can, and its good to see that you obviously care for animals, makes a change in these troubled times! Lissa
