Nouchko

I'm shipping my dog to germany next week to be ready for the sieger show. What step would anyone of you take to make sure that you would get your dog back? The breeder that sold him to me is the one putting in the show and I heard so many bad stories but I also would love to see my dog participate at the show. I will be traveling to germany during the week  of the show to be there.  Any advice.

Make sure the dog is in your name, that the SV has a proper record of you as the current owner (just having your name on the back of the ped is not enough, it has to be recorded with the SV), become an SV member so that the dog can be shown under your name and you do not have to get suckered into any stories of why the dog cannot be shown in your name, and then you should be good to go. Either you trust them or you don't. If I trust someone to take care of my dog for such a long time I would also trust them to send the dog back to me. Make sure you are clear about expenses and handling fees before the dog is shipped.

If the breeder of the dog in question, is the one taking care of the dog, I would give him the benefit of any doubt you may have.  I recently brought back a female from Bavaria that had been staying with her breeder for almost a year, while she was titled shown, and bred and although I had seen her several times throughout the year, I was more than pleased with their personal interest in the dog and treating the dog as if it were their own.  They were thrilled to have one of their dogs back in the kennel.  The daughter even put a SchH II on the dog, when only a SchH I was negotiated.  If they have not given you cause to worry, I would not.  If they have shown you cause for concern, then don't send the dog to them.

I would not send a dog  cargo  with this heat  !!!!!!

The only way your dog will travel will be in the cargo hold, same way it came to you. Read Stephens post on a different thread you started. If you can get a direct flight the dog is definitely fine. If there is a stop over, there may be heat restrictions. Where are you located?
