I started feeding Chaos the Professional dog food brand today.  He seems to really like it.  Hoping it might put a tad bit of weight on him and perk his coat up like they said it would do!  Any one else feed this brand?

Here is a link to Professional dog food on the dog food rating chart. If yours is the same food it is a 2 star rated kibble out of 6.

Where does it show how many stars the food has?  Didn't see it.

I tried the Professional once upon a time, and could never get decent firm stools with it.  That has been some time ago, however, and they could have improved it since then. If you had firm stools on the former food, and if he ate it ok, you might want to just add fish oil and see if that doesn't do the trick.  (If he was on a good premium food to begin with.)

Just looked at their web site looks like an average dog food.

First here are a couple of tip's on what to look for from any dog food.     First who manufactures the dog food? didn't see any mention of that on the site very important if they aren't manufacturing it you are playing russian roulette they probaly have a co-packer agreement with an unmentionable compny.    Second who procures the ingrediants and where do they get the ingrediants from?  Do they use fresh locally produced whole food ingrediants or are they using left over scraps.   Third who does the quality control during and after the manufacturing process and at what temperature do they manufacture the food at.

People spend an unbelieveable amount of money on their beloved German Shepherds but by far the single most important thing you can do for your dog is feed him the best possible food.  I hate to say this but dog food in many cases is often overlooked or they just say I've been feeding Rover this kibble for years little do they know they are feeding their dog crap and slowly killing him.

Dog are Carnivors they do best on raw meat unfortunatly in todays commerical kibbels there is very little fresh raw meat.  If your feeding your dog an average kibble feed him some raw meat also or you can supplement his diet with a supplement like Canine Complete  www.thewholisticpet.com.        If your going to feed a kibble I highly recommend Orijen I feel it is the best kibble on the market   www.championpetfoods.com.

Do your best friend a favor do your homework on canine nutrition and by all means feed him some fresh raw meat.   Hey try a test put your kibble in one bowl and some fresh raw meat in another bowl and see what happens.   But you better stand clear of the bowl with the raw meat in it  You won't have to tell him what to do with the raw meat.

Best of luck to all

It's a decent food at a reasonable price. The have just reformutated it. Dogs/pups do great on it. I have been using  the Large breed pup food to wean my pups on for years and they do great on it.
