I took Chaos to Lake Michigan after work this afternoon. He perked right up when he saw a seagull take off. Got a great shot of him. Found out he really doesn't like to swim too, LOL. He would only wade in up to his tummy. Do your GSD's like to swim???

My Naya's part fish...all she's missing are the gills! She LOVES to swim! Of course, it could be in part that she spends 90% of her time with my 6 Golden Retrievers

Beautiful doggie, you should be proud. Some shepherds are part fish others just like to take a toe dip. With that coat, be happy he is only a toe dipper, LOL. Keep posting his pics, he is more beautiful everytime!

Thanks and I will . He is such a ham when it comes to getting his picture taken. I am really glad that he will hold his stack through pretty much anything now! I must have taken 10 to get that 1, lol.

Where did you find a beach on Lake Michigan that would allow dogs???? I have driven up and down the lakeshore and all I see is "no dogs allowed". I'm talking about the Ludington/Manistee area.

I take Chaos to a place called Hager Beach. It's one of the only ones that allows dogs. It's near Coloma, MI. Our dog obedience travels there at least 2wice a month in the summer for a cookout and to let the dogs swim in the big lake. Takes me a hour to get there from where I am.

My long coat loves the pool, but have not taken her to the beach yet. Last year I took Libby to Garden City Beach in SC. She loved the ocean. You are allowed to take dogs on the beach after 4:00. By the end of the week, Libby would be standing next to the gate waiting to go and knew the path we took to get there. This is a picture taken from our vacation. The house I rented was perfect for having a dog - no carpet, screened in porch, deck with gate and a nice sized back yard. I have been trying to find a place to rent this summer, that allows dogs closer to home (NJ shore) without any luck. Plus the beaches I usually go to in NJ do not allow dogs - Avalon, Sea Isle, etc. and the few that I found are very high priced. If anyone has any good suggestions for vacation spots that allow dogs and that are in the North East, please let me know. If anyone is intersted in vacationing in SC with your dog - I highly recommend a house called Mud Monkeys.

Great picture. That's about how far I got Chaos in. He didn't like the waves coming at him, lol.
