I read an article that was referenced here on the PDB that suggested that GSDs receive a 'point system' style of rating when they are Koer'd; assigning a certain amount of points for flaws depending upon their severity, so that a dog would have to have under a set number of points to be considered breed worthy. This was supposedly proposed to simplify the system of rating dogs, & to make it easier for less experienced handlers to understand what their dogs strengths & weakness were, & to comprehend how important those weaknesses &/or strengths were when considering breeding partners. For instance, Dog X would have .........Hips               1.0 (equalling a 'good', no points for 'excellent', more points for poorer hips)
                                                                                     Elbows          1.0
                                                                                     Movement     1.0
                                                                                     Bite                  0.5
Courage         2.0 (Remember, a higher number is a poorer score)

And so on......I was wondering if such a system were designed & put into practise, wouldn't it be wise to include health issues as well, such as heart, skin, reproductive issues, metabolism issues, etc, with an issue assigned a point value depending upon it's severity &
