Arwin, 2 years old:  Working on off leash heeling, sit out of motion, and not jumping up everytime I make a sound, because I wasn't consistent in my release sound when she was a pup.  FeeBee 6 months old: staying for a minute or two, a little heeling with motivation because it's fun, and still working on getting those platz faster.  I need to watch Leerburg's Grip and Focus DVD.   Veronica

Training was going well until my big girlie took a short cut THROUGH my knee to get to her ball..... So far 3-months and counting in a brace, my youngsters and I are working on basics like sit, platz, look, and article for a while longer.  Can't manage to walk fast enough for foos yet, and it will be awhile longer...  So, I'm with you GARD, I get to go watch hubby work his and wish I could too.

One baby pup 10weeks old, trying to adjust to being last male pup left, attention to sitz only, and get his teeth off my feet hands, legs and pants., substitution going well, but when my feet  move, his mouth goes right back to my feet.., crate training doing better, hes been harder than the female that left last night...., she caught on immediately...its horribley hot here, so he wants right back inside , so I have to walk , walk, walk till he does his big potty or it ends up on my floor...

NOW THIS IS A GREAT TOPIC!!!

Mine is 18mo male, coming along nicely, I think.  He is a tracking fiend!  I track 4 days a week, and from the time I put him in the car until we get to the fields he is howling with glee (sounds pretty bizarre going down the road).  This dog has more food drive than any I've ever had.  Makes tracking a lot of fun.  His OB is coming along too.  I'm still just concentrating on the basics (focus, fus, aus, heir).  As far as protection,  I'll let you know after the Dean seminar in Oregon at the end of the month!

Marci,

I got that off the internet and posted it as a joke. God knows this sight could use a few laughs after the last couple of weeks.

Chaco is doing fantastic in his protection training.  He has excellent defensive instincts.  For example, he instinctively KNOWS that the vacuum cleaner is evil and must be punished.  Every time the wailing demon canister vac rumbles across the carpet Chaco flies into a barking rage.  He circles, he barks, he charges at the foul mechanical monster that drags Mom through the house.  Even when the howling monster vac is momentarily quiet while Mom - clearly in a possessed state of mind - moves the monster's tail from one spot in the wall to another, Chaco guards the vacumm cleaner intently, panting from his exursions.

Oh yeah, and we're doing some Schutzhund stuff too... heeling, tracking, the usual.
