Please pass the word. I have a client who loves to adopt senior dogs that desperately need a rescue, that no one else wants. He has all breeds but loved his other GSD and really wants another. He takes outstanding care of these dogs and makes their last few years good ones. We live in the Chicago/MIlwaukee area. He is not interested in a younger dog, must get along with his other dogs, and genuinely need a home badly. Feel free to email me. vonisengard@comcast.net

KC contacting local shelters and even PetFinder.com is typically useful, Hope that helps some.

Funny thing about it, he likes the dogs to find him, if that makes sense. He's saved several dogs from being put to sleep, just through word of mouth. I think he's gotten a few of his dogs through rescue groups, but he asked me to put the word out wherever I can.

Here's his story, copied from "usimports" post:
[[This is a plea for all GSD lovers. There is an older, bi color male German Shepherd, who was left on the streets by his family to fend for himself. He was "found" in the middle of no where, with no drag marks, or anything to indicate he had traveled to this location, in this condition on his own. He can not use his back legs, but has very strong front end support, and does appear to have bowel / bladder control. He is a large very beautiful boy who longs for a family, to love him the way he is. We are also seeking donations to help him get a set of wheels (which is currently running $450 - $500, of which we have $150 so far) he is a very gentle soul, who would do good in just about any environment. The vet did say he would be a "full functioning" dog, if he had a cart/back end support. He has the desire to do things, he just can't understand why he can't seem to convince his legs to follow...... if you can help by donating to his cart, or even offer him a loving, permanent home, please e-mail us. He is located on the West Coast (CA/NV) and transport can definitely be arranged for anyone interested in offering their home to this magnificent boy. (TexasK9Importer@aol.com) *He will be headed to a foster home in Southern California this week, and they did say they could arrange to drive him to his new home, or meet his new family part way (United States Only, unless someone from Canada wanted to make the arrangements, and meet his foster at the border) : ) ]] Good luck!Contact information Disclaimer Privacy Statement Copyright Information Terms of Service Cookie policy ↑ Back to top
