Can dogs who receive a Kkl 2 rating be V rated in show? Also if they get LBZ 1 does that mean they are now Kkl 1 for life? How does that whole kor thing work? There has been quite a few times that I have seen a dog get a Kkl 1 rating then get a Kkl 2 LBZ and vice versa. Can someone please explain

KKL1 = good looking, pronounced bitework

KKL2 = good looking, sufficient bitework       or      not this good looking , over or undersized, missing tooth, but pronounced bitework

If a dog only gets KKL2 ( either because of only sufficient bitework or not matured enough  ) , you can try it again one year later ( SV is in the process of changing these rules right now ). If the dog gets a KKL1 in the second attempt, this is for the second year only.

LBZ means " Lebenszeit ", this means for the rest of the dogs life.

Kind regards

I always thought KKL1 was Especially recommended for breeding and KKL2 was suitable for breeding. Haven't I seen Korungs where the KKL1 says bitework sufficient? I know KKL2 dogs with pronounced bite work, that are only suitable for breeding.

I could be wrong.

Here are the breed survey regulations from USA: www.germanshepherddog.com/regulations/breed_survey_regulations.htm
Near the bottom of the page is how they classify the dogs "7. BREED SURVEY".

Lova,

Thanks for sharing the link!  I think that should clarify the matter.

Thanks Gsdlova,

this link is better than my English!

DeesWolf, you are right, KKL1  = recommended for breeding

KKL2 = suitable for breeding,

but recommended only with pronounced bitework and proper structure. A dog that bites well, but doesn´t look good enough, is only sufficient, too.
Both criterias need to be fullfilled.

A dog that is KKL2 because of sufficient bitework is able to get a V rating on a show, because on a show the bitework doesn´t count.
