Has anybody or anyone noticed that we have too many puppies outthere? The market is overflooded with gsd puppies!!!!!!Why dont we stop breeding for a little while, let the market recover.German Shepards will get a bad rep again.,with all the bad breeders we have at this current time.Unless it is a top dog or it is going to be a working dog,why breed it? Hope to hear some reponses. Thanks Mark

There is always a place for good genetics but not the rest. If good breeders stopped producing puppies in general, what would be left of the breed? The problem isn't so much the "puppy mills" but the backyard breeders that line their pockets, pay for their kid's college education or afford themselves a nice vacation each year as they naive'ly produce,  a litter or two or more without much thought.

Yeah we a few of those and face it , they have been around since the beginning of time   Why do you think the Arminius and Weinerau split   why did two brothers,,,,,,CAIN AND ABEL     SEPERATE AND START THE MANY MANY DOGS THAT WE BOUNCED OFF OF???????

PUPPY MILLS CAN BE STOPPED IF ALL OF US WILL GET OFF OUR CHAIRS AND REPORT THEM TO THE HEALTH DEPT IN EACH COUNTY AND CITY   YOU HAVE TO BE ADAMENT AND YOU HAVE TO KEEP ON CALLING ,,,ITS A LOT OF WORK TO GET SOMETHING DONE, BUT WE DO NOT WANT THE GOVERNMENT IN OUT FACES , EITHER , SO DONT GET ANY IDEAS ABOUT LET THE BILL BE PASSED TO STOP PUPPY MILLS      THEN THEY WILL BE INSTALLING TOILETS WITH MONEY COIN OPERATION WHERE YOU HAVE TO PAY EVERYTIME YOU POTTY/////////   THERE ARE A LOT OF PUPPIES ON THIS DATABASE!!!!!!i ENJOY LOOKING AT THEM BUT I WONDER WHERE ALL OF THEM WILL GO.............????

Mark, there have always been too many puppies, as long as I've been involved in the GSD world.  Plus, It affects all dog breeds.

as to the incoherent comments of YRT -  Cain and Abel, comparing a part in the bible with the  Martin Brothers?   One of the Martin Brothers killed the other?  to use, the honorable nickname of Yellow Rose of Texas heroine, and now this...

But, for anyone who reads the non-sense here the short facts:

SV President:   Hermann Martin - Arminius - (arminius means Hermann)

Walter Martin - von der Wienerau, one of the most prolific kennels in the world until 1996, until the death of Walter Martin, the eve before the Sieger Show.  Two weeks later, his brother, and his very good friend,  Hermann, the then President of the SV, died.

If AB 1634 passes in California, there will be a lot less puppies of ALL breeds bred there.

Thanks for everybodys reply, hope to hear from more of you soon. Right now we have a Quantium Armenius daughter so I know the difference bewteen good and bad bloodlines. I still will not breed her until I think that there is less puppies out there to sell.,so i hope that some of these breeders that read this may stop or slow down on their breeding.      Thanks Mark

4pack, you think that only puppy mill puppies wind up in the pound? THINK AGAIN!

I think there are a lot of breeders just out there for the money, and they aren't half careful enough who they sell their dogs to. A high-drive working line dog just isn't going to cut it as a house pet, and some pretty good dogs DO wind up in the pound or in rescue.
