4pack

by 4pack on 07 June 2007 - 19:06

Today I recieved a card with hand written note from the Vet who put Xabina down. Very nice card and kind words from the Veterinarian. Hard to read as she has the typical doctors hen scratch hand writing. Also I just switched banks and am very pleased with the one on one service I get with  them, phone call ask me if I have any questions about anything and a card from the lady who oopened my account. These are the kinds of things businesses forget about these days. You go so long without it, then when it happens you are almost in shock!

Good breeders and buyers who stay in contact and abide by their contracts are going to stay in business longer too.

I agree, 4 pack. I will always have a soft spot for the oncoloigist who treated my Dylan fror leukemia. When she told me the cancer had returned she hugged me and cried almost as hard as I did. I opted for no more chemo, so he went home with prednisone. She asked me to let her know how he does, so when I had him PTS I notified her and received a beautiful flower arrangement a few days later. A little empathy goes a long way.

When I purchased my girl a couple months back, the breeder asked lots of questions and wanted to make sure we stayed in contact every 3-5 days for the first month to make sure her puppy was doing well. I though wow she asks so many questions and do we really want to even look at them. Then I thought we been looking so we might as well see them, and fell in love.

2 weeks ago she called and asked if she could visit us at our home which is 3 hours from her since she was in town, we said yes anytime was fine with us. She said it was such a treat to see her baby at her home. It is nice to know that she cares about her pups and we been invited to her annual picnic, which she has over 80 confirmed coming who has a pup from her over the last 15 years. I'm glad we search for a year and found a caring breeder who really cares about her pups.

Willy would you care to do a shout out to your breeder? I'm sure more of us would like to know who this great lady is. Name/web address, give her some well deserved free advertisment?

4Pack & Blitzen- sounds like you have wonderful vets.  Mine also sent a nice sympathy  card, handwritten, with alot of personal memories about Reno's visits, treatment over the past years.  It meant alot.  He also expressed he was sorry that he was not on call when she passed away.  Good customer service is hard to find.  How sad to think that that it is now the exception.

As for good breeders, I purchased my youngest from Fiona Anderson in Belgium and was impressed on the pre and followup work she did with me regarding getting my puppy.  She gave me her phone number and insisted I call her to let her know she arrived in good order.  Since the time difference was 5 hours and I did not get home from the airport until late, I thought I would call her in the morning.  My phone rang shortly after (in the middle of the night her time) - making sure everything was ok with the pup.  That is good customer service as well as a caring breeder.

We get so used to posting all the negative experiences that the good get forgotten.

Great post 4pack.

Willy and Chris Sweeney

No offense, but I don't have the time or the patience to tell you how my new puppy is doing every 3-5 days.  Yes, I do like the fact that there is a relationship, but every 3-5 days is a bit much.  Sounds kinda creepy to me!  Can you imagine if you went to a new doctor for a check-up and for the next month he called to see how you were doing every 3-5 days?  My first thought would be that something is wrong or I am dying.

Like I said, don't take offense.  I'm just the type that doesn't want to be bothered 1-2 times a week.

We have two excellent animal Docs. One for our dogs and one for our mules, yes wonderful kind gentle safe pretty mules that we ride.  when my Crissie mule got sick and died suddenly last January her Doc held on and let my cry my eyes out.  (still do and am when thinking about her).  He too sent a wonderful card.

Animal Docs seem to have an extra touch when it comes to customer service. At least the good ones do.

LOL Don that is true too. My dogs breeder and I don't take offence when we don't hear something for a couple weeks at a time. We both have kids, other dogs and work to deal with. It is nice to know though, if I have any questions or just want to share info or pics or even ideas, he will write me back. He even sent us in another direction, to buy another pup from a breeder friend of his and that pup too is awesome.

Chris Orkies~ vom GrimOrkie

Jeff Lund~ Schneiden Fells

Both are nice trustworthy people with good dogs. They will talk your ear off and get you what you really are looking for.
