We sure need the rain down here but along with that comes the problem of what to do with the dogs.  My pup is 11 months old and my female is 4 years.  They are used to going out for a run at the soccer field chasing balls every morning and evening.  My boy just goes berserk around the house if he doesn't get his runs in.  I try throwing the ball in the house, doing some ob work, playing with the tugs etc. but it still doesn't relieve their boredom and wear them out like their runs do.  He's getting into everything he can find.  Any other suggestions on what to do with a bored pup when you're stuck inside in the rain?

My dogs don't care if it's 100 or 35 and rainy, they run. Then again they live outside and my SUV has seen it all. Muddy wet dogs are the price I pay to keep them from going crazy.

Living in the Pacific Northwest where it always rains LOL the rain doesn't matter if we're doing something.  Or letting the dogs play outside for a while.

Hey I worry about melting too, whether it be heat or rain, thats why I throw the dogs out and I drive. LOL sounds cruel huh? I have a couple places in the country, little to no traffic and I pace them. I know how fast and how far they go. Hot days we take it easy and make it short, stop for a dip in the rice fields. In the cold we go farther or faster.

It is raining here too! Montana Junes.... We still take our daily walks, I guess I am not so sweet that I melt. I have done road work too in the past though, its a good alternative. But with a 6 month old pup I gotta just do the walks, and play ball in the house! Arg!! Never is it just right for long! Either to HOT to COLD to WET... and if you just wait a minute it will change from one or the other here!

I hear ya Trailrider lol.  Unfortunately walks are not enough.  These monster want to RUN.  We went to the soccer field in the rain this evening.  It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.  I didn't melt!

policemom.. LOL! I walk! They run! Back and forth after that tree squirrels then the ground squirrels, those guys are a blast for them right now with their whistles. I have to say they are even lying low with the rain but the dogs know every hole! I can't find my umbrella!! So I  got wet... actually the rain water seemed to soften my pups coat! I feed RAW and also put her on Show Stopper but her coat had a stiff wiry feel but after running in the rain and threw the wet brush/grass she feels softer! So something good again comes out of the walks! I even made a fire, June and a wood stove fire LOL!
