What is a fair price for a 10 month old blk/red male pup, off of a SchH1 and SchH2 parents?

hello moose,
although pretty new to this myself, ask yourself this, what is this gsd pup worth to you? forget about the titles of the parent's as this pup may be better or not as good as it's parents! i've done much research since starting into the gsd world, and figured out this. the pups only worh what your willing to pay regardless of what it's pedigree say's. buy a pup that you are going to enjoy no matter how well he does or doesn't do on the field. i don't know what their asking for the pup in question and don't know your intentions with this pup? but remember this as everyone i have seen post on puppies say's their all a ''crap shoot''. 2 of the best dogs may produce dog's that don't achieve while 2 unknown's produce the most spectacular litter! so it all boils down to what is this puppy worth to you? color you want? drives you want? bloodlines you want? is this pup what you want? if so it's worth whatever you will pay for him/her. so don't pay more than ''YOU'' want to for a prospective puppy that may or may not turn into what you expect! if you want guarunteed anything buy a proven older dog! will cost you,but atleast you know what your getting and what he/she is capable of if not more!
sincerely,
kenny

Do the parents also have their show rating and KKL?
If yes and they're V and KKL1...IMO>>>> I would pay up to 1,000 for a healthy pet that just doesn't have what it takes for sport (if thats all I was looking for).
For a promising show prospect started in SchH (WITH GOOD WORKING ABILITIES) and pre-limbed. I'd pay 2-3G's maybe a TAD bit more if the Sire was SchH3 and the pup had some VP ratings already or he was well started in training.

Moose,
Unfortunately the concept of "fair" doesn't have anything to do with the prices for dogs. Sellers will ask for whatever price they think they can get, regardless of the dog's merit. I'm not saying that all sellers are swindlers, but rather that this is free market economy and there are no price controls. As SchH and other dog sports gain popularity, the prices will continue to skyrocket until the market finally gets saturated.
You could get some info on the "current market value" by contacting a few breeders or importers and comparing prices. That would at least get you a price range, but of course, none of that can prove what this 10 month dog is truly worth.
Do your homework and best wishes!

Moose
I kinda skimmed the threads, but I think everyone is right. Not all SchH 1 are identicle. Not all SchH 2 are Identicle. Not all dogs have the same pedigrees. A SchH1 son out of an Excellent pair is worth more than a SchH 1 out of a Crummy pair.
Don't forget!!!!!!!The farther you go and the more you spend, the better the dog!!!!LOL
