I'm willing to bet most of the people here don't show in either, and of those posters who live in the USA, I imagine most are more into the SV type shows offered by organizations like United Schutzhund Clubs of America.

I would bet the same thing sueincc. Would like to hear from those that do show their dogs in AKC, and UKC though!

I show in both UKC/AKC I have 3 dogs and one coming up that I am showing, I have a long coat shepherd that is ukc pointed and only shown in ukc, then i have a half west german/american bitch that is shown only in akc right now and has been taking 2nd and reserve winners so far out of a handful of shows, I have an all american puppy that will be shown in both and the 3rd that is shown is a siberian husky (I know not this group but I did say 3 I am showing..lol) he is ukc pointed and has placed in akc

LOL..well I also have alot of friends that has one or more long coats I seen one today at a show he was beautiful old shepherd his brother is a champion show dog in akc.

Mine are not long coats but I think long coats are just beautiful. mkennels do you have some pics of them? I'd love to see them.
