Perphaps, just perhaps, there are enough posts about poor Max now. I just counted 13 different topics about Max or people fighting about who believes what about Max or who believes who knows more then another relating to Max.  Would it be possible for everybody to let Max rest in peace?  Wait for the absolute final conclusions of the investigation to be published then dicuss that one last time. Battle lines can be drawn again for that one.

Rest in peace Max.

I agree animules. I think the issue has turned into personal conflict. I hope the trouble makers can get their thumbs out of their anus'.

Dogs mindset... someone enters my property and I bark. Does not matter he has a piece of paper in his hand and still comes to my location. I see a man in uniform I am not used to but he still comes. I know I am tied up and cannot escape this man nor can i run from him. When I encounter him face to face I have no choices but to bark at him hoping he goes away. He then proceeds to execute me in lieu of calling his Supervisors or Animal Control. All of this took place when Maxs house was empty, and no one could have saved his life by stepping forward and trying to stop this maniac Deputy who had already killed 3 other dogs. Those of you on this Board that claim to be in LE Active or Retired give me a break in your support of this Deputy!!! Come on !!! Bad Cop / Good Cop??? Draw the line will you. This Shooter had more than one alternative other than shooting this defenseless animal. Tina, Sueincc, Funky I respect you all but one does not have to be a Rocket Scientist to evaluate the death of Max. Hopefully the News Media will pick this up from all the members contacting them and the slow wheels of Justice will turn in the direction of Christopher Long, who at the moment is Judge and Executioner. Lets see how long he stays that way. I know if he had done this to one of mine he better leave the Country and take his "sorry assed Badge with him". I aint no "ordinary White Boy".

Mr and Mrs Mattia my heart goes out to you and will remember Max and both of you in my prayers.

Is there a picture of Max somewhere? Is he on the database? How old was he? Sorry if this information was already posted, but coundn't keep up with all the threads. I'd really like to see what Max looked like during happier times. Would be nice if the Mattias would share some photos and tell us what kind of dog he was.

Triode, He was a solid black East German DDR, saw his pic a real handsome guy with a bandanna round his neck!

What does it matter wat kind of dog he was. Good or bad, he didnt deserve to be killed. He was doing his JOB as a good GERMAN SHEPHERD dog! Have any of you actually though about that?

by gsdlvr2 on 03 June 2007 - 21:06

While I understand the frustration of all the threads on Max, I agree with Vom Brunhaus and think the meat of the  comments were well said. Max IS resting. Has been for 3 weeks or so. It is tragic to be sure. This poor dog was executed by what in my opinion is a very dangerous person.I have never left any of my dogs tied out,but I don't think this particular person with a gun would have respected a fence either, or a kennel perhaps either. Just a hunch. He strikes me as  a  "fearbiter" and should not be in the job he is in. He is dangerous. He HAD to have heard the dog barking. An independant, thorough , outside investigation is required.
