This has taken a year to finally see something happen. I had heard about this right when it happened from inside sources who were horrified with what happened to the dog. At least someone woke up and has done the right thing.

Another Cop thing... This is getting BAD !!!   When are we gonna get something done about this crap !!  Just because they have a badge they can "get away" with it ???

No disrespect to the LEO's that do hold themselves to the higher standard !!  Please know I appreciate your commitments !!!!

Unfortunately, this one doesn't surprise me that much.

I have had to bite my lip and hold my tongue, almost every time I have been to a police k9 training day. I know of a dog, a very good one, that got a ruptured kidney from a kick.

Remember though it is not only cops who kick their dogs!!!!! We all know that.

Believe it or not LE K9 training has come a long way in the last 10 years. It is slowly but surely getting better.

Real Dog - I've also worked with some of the local K9 units. The vast majority love their dogs but there are a small group who (I guess) seem to like to dominate the dog (whatever the breed). In this case, he went completely off on the dog. The very interesting thing about this was within literally a day, the lid was clamped so tight on this that no one could get any info at all from any source. A friend of mine has very high placed PD connections and even they couldn't get answers. I'm very curious to find out what it finally took to shake this one out... It's just such a loss...

Good Grief!!! I think we should petition to hold PO's accountable for any and all their unjustified actions against people and animals alike. Maybe then they would stop and think before acting. But sadly enough it would just fall on deaf ears.

He has been arrested, I doubt he will ever be convicted, even if he had slit the dogs throat in front of 100 civilian witnesses I wouldn't be surprised to see "the crime scene analysis hhas determined the officer in question followed police procedure.  We are sorry for the dog, but the officer was being attacked". spin spin spin

When will this ever end. This is just disgusting!!! Someone should punish him by showing him

what his partner felt... and to think these cops also carry loaded weapons. I think

the police need to get a much tougher pre hire/screening process. Enough is enough

Wow, all first thing I thought was- the guy has a pretty apt last name. It'd be funny if it wasn't so disgusting.
