Hello everyone, I know there is alot abuzz right now, well I wanted to take a minute and write to you all to let you know my perspective about the Mattia Family.

Sharon Mattia is well spoken and well educated very calm, quiet, kind lady.  and yes I use Lady she is first and foremost a Lady with manners and common sense.  Common sense is hard to find these days we all know this.  But this Lady has it,  and the more I speak and corrospond with her the more I am overwhealmed by her sensibility, credibility,  and Strength,  My gosh this Woman has the strength of 100 men and that's simply not an exageration.  She is really holding herself together well through all of this trauma,  and yes I use the word Trauma as this has been a horrifically traumatic experience for her and her family.  Joe her husband is not coping as well,  He is emotionally distressed to the point that Sharon fears for her husbands health.  I have not yet spoken with Joe,  honestly don't know that I could without breaking into tears,  But I can tell you this family is very appreciative of all the support they have received from everyone here, and from others across the country.

I can also tell you they are not "Radical" type of folks they are every day folks who work for a living, who abide by the laws, who Loved they're dog !!   They view this as an absolute atrocity and I share they're feeling in that, I openly admit that or would not have taken such strides to attempt to get some resolve over the whole issue.

Consider this too,  the main issue yes seems to be Max's death,  However my concern is that this family has been traumatized for unjust reasoning,  in that the deputy used poor judgement and chose to engage in a situation that could have been difused.

Again a big THANKS TO ALL for your support to this wonderful family who is suffering a great loss.

God Bless you Sharon & Joe hang in there,  You have many who share your grief and pray for peace to come to you soon.

Echo, Please convey my heartfelt sympathy to the family. I live not too far and if there is anything that I can do please don't hesitate.  There needs to be justice done here for both the family and Max.

Echo, Thanks for providing support for this poor family.  Sometimes I wonder if some people just like being contrary no matter what.  If the officer did nothing wrong I'll be the first to apologize.  Right now the most important thing is that the family get through this awful time.  Please give them my regards.  I'm glad you are on top of this so it can't get swept under the proverbial rug.

Don't give me all the credit this is definately a multi network effort that also involves every one here.  The support given to this family by this board alone has been overwhealming to them and they are so greatful for it.

I could only pull this off as being the huge effort that it now is with all of the support that YOU all have offered.

The heat can only last so long as there is a kitchen,  there are many elements to a kitchen and every single voice here absolutely matters !!!

I'm just so thankful for all of the support shown to the Mattia family has in FACT helped them in coping with they're loss.   They were so surprised to hear from someone on the West Coast and there are alot more people here than just me who have gotten involved.

I just hope we can all stay on top of this so it does not become swept.  Again Many Thanks for Everyones support to the Mattia Family.

I've posted a link for the sheriff's office on the Tina Barber's website (Shiloh Shepherd breed founder.) Anctually, the members there ASKED for the link, after I posted the story! :-)  Since Tina's breed was founded on the German Shepherd, many of the posters there either own German Shepherds, or still love them.

Look at the New Thread NEW LINK TO HELP MAX Please everyone go there and post your thoughts and encourage them to investigate this issue along with other family pets that have been executed by LEO Whoever posted the link about "precious" the Pit Bull Terrier needs to provide them with that link as well, and write your thoughts on the phenomenon now known as "Family pets are executed if they get in the way of Law Enforcement" as the question... How are we to keep our pets "Safe" if they are not even Safe in our own home, backyard, garage,.... Maybe that's what should go on the poster ??
