Can anybody give me the estimate of how much do current schutzhund titled working lines cost today in Germany? What's the ranging prices?
I hope this topic can benefit those who are seeking an import workingline from Germany.
By the way.. I'm NOT looking to buy.
by KeepzItReal on 20 May 2007 - 01:05
You ask this same damn question every 30 days you dumbass. Go look up your old posts and remind yourself.
Of course you're not looking to buy another Catahoula looking Jake. So stop wasting board space and go sit your tired ass down somewhere

KeepzItReal, cant you say anything nice on this board? Or is it too fricken diffcult for you to be nice for once?
By the way... At least I balls to show everybody pictures of my dogs.. when was the last time you posted any pictures of yours? Oh wait! you haven't.. because you're too damn busy bashing people here. I'm surprise to see that OLI hasn't banned you already.
by the way.. you must be very jealous of Jake.. because he devotes his life to me, while your dogs would love to tear your ass apart and probably a kennel dog... It's known fact that if somebody with a piss poor attitute such as yourself.. essentally has dogs with the same attitute.
PS, thank you for ruining my thread. I was wanting it to be informational.. but no, it instantly turned into a name calling dog bashing thread.
You must be so proud of yourself, huh?

omfg @ Catahoula! Hang on, I just spit my coffee all over the monitor! Good one keepz!
Brittany, I wouldnt be so mad at Keepz. He didnt ruin your thread as you have your own forum board with tons of posters to view such topics. I like your classis topis such as "Good breeders" & " Bad breeders". Nice work!
People should view Brittamys site. Its quite a piece!

E5000 and up... and up... and up... and up!
If you want a E. European dog with barely-passing scores, for a SchH 1, likely with some serious problems either in training, structure or health, (or production) and hold no hopes of ever passing the 2, (which is why the dog is for sale, most likely) see the lower end of the scale. If you want a dog you can compete with in club events, more. If you want a proven producer under 6 yrs. old, add more yet. If you hold some dream of taking the dog to a national competition and ending up in the top 10 (assuming YOU are capable of maintaining the level of training the dog arrived here with!) keep adding... and praying that the person who PUT those long years of training into the dog experiences some life-changing issue (health, divorce, jail) that forces them to sell the dog they might otherwise have had a wonderful time with.
The best working dogs are rarely sold except to "retirement" homes, occasionally still young enough to manage another year or so of competition and/or breeding, and only because most "normal" sport enthusiasts in Germany can only keep 1-3 dogs at a time. Few have more than a small graden for a couple of kennels, let alone the time to train more than a couple of dogs at one time. As the old dogs reach the end of their careers, and the serious sport trainer needs to delegate more time and resources to bringing along its successor, sometimes they will allow someone from another country to buy the old dog, but not usually...

How does 2200 Euro sound for a "SchH 1 ready" 2 year old female with BH title? I thought it sounded like a fair price but unfortunately (story of my life) while I was waiting to see the protection video the broker sold the dog to someone else. I had a bad feeling about that one when the broker sent a picture of the dog instead of the video. Then the next day the dog was *poof* gone.
Who needs a Schutzhund trained dog anyway? I just taught my boy to bring me the fabric softener this morning and couldn't be prouder. Too bad I didn't catch that one on video :-)
I need to just do it myself. Tomorrow I stock up on tugs 'n stuff and put up a doggie jungle gym in the back yard. The kids will be delighted.

Triodegirl, I don't really have anything to add to that thread, except for one "food for thought". Why would anybody sell a dog "ready for SchH1"? If the dog truly is "ready", why not put that SchH1 on and then sell it for at least 2000 Euros more? It just does not make sense to me. And if the seller tells you that he does not have the time to do it, when he could easily ask a frined to do it for him. I had that discussion years ago with people in Germany, and they have the same opinion.
Shelley, you are right on! People want to and have the right to be paid for the time they put into a dog. You get what you paid for and if it sounds too good to be true, it most likely is.
Regards, Chris

I have to agree with you , but I have some "food for thought" myself. What if the dog is truly ready for the SchH1, but the owners know the dog is a piece of garbage and will hopefully get a 70-70-80 and just pass. I have to say you are completely right though. Why not spend an extra $60 on the entry fee and get the title?
You always have to wonder what the problem may be. A long time ago a gentleman told me the dog for sale was $4000 because he had not done any work with the dog. He said I have the option to train him in my fashion. Because nothing is done, I can mold him. The funny thing, is that five minutes later, he told me to act quick because he is going to start bitework and that would raise the price. WHAT A JOKE!

I'm a realist when it comes to the "Schutzhund ready" dogs. I was just hoping the female at least had a decent foundation in protection work. I was also told she was housebroke and living with a family which is a real plus for me.
Brittany, when Trigger is ready for his BH, I'll bring him to Florida for his title. The offer I made last year to use him for stud still stands :-)

At this time of year "ready for SchH 1" would worry me. There are trials everywhere in Germany right now, unlike here where if one misses the couple of annual trials nearby one either drives a long way or waits till next year.
Not that you can't get nice young dogs with a bit of decent foundation work now and then, probably not "ready" (no retreive, no blind search, but enough bite work to see the dog will do the work well enough to pass) but I'd usually reather have a dog that has had nothing done with it than try to fix someone else's screw ups.
