We need our representatives - ie: the partnership, to investigate how the other countries did things when they broke away from their own kennel clubs and get something moving NOW!
The longer we leave it, the more we get ridiculed and ignored by the KC.
Sally
Have tried to copy and paste what I have sent to the TV company but for some reason it won't!! However I have sent a very strongly worded complaint to them as Acting Chairman of the GSD League of GB. I won't hold my breath but we can hope. My next letter is to Kathryn Symms with regard to the appalling treatment given to one of our Senoir Citizen members - Pam Edgington by a member of their staff on Sunday. Nikki Farley
Nikki, when you have copied, use control v on your computer
Just had Andy Jack on the phone to me saying he had recieved a text from someone who had said I was writing bad comments about him on this messageboard. A texter with obviously the same type of shit stirring falsehood rumour mongering as AW. As I told Andy, I am not afraid to speak the truth, nor speak it under my own name, but I was NOT GETTING AT HIM BUT AT THE KC and their ridiculous Undertaking and of course as a sarcastic reminder to the GSD Club of WALES of what exactly they have signed up to in this Undertaking. Lets face it, they didnt do such a good job of educating their last Open Show judge did they? Or isnt that exactly what the Club reported to the Kennel Club after they asked them to account for the complaint recieved about him. What was it they siad, that they had advised, explained (otherwise Educated) their judge on KC rules and regs, its just that he obviously hadnt listened !!! Hey ho, last time the reported complaint came via an exhibitor (not the Club), but that was BEFORE the days of this KC UNDERTAKING, now as a signing Club they would be duty bound to report the judge themselves within 7 days of the last day of the show.
As I said to Andy, dont shoot me, Its the KC who have created this Undertaking under these ridiculous conditions, for goodness sake I'm even one of the people who are refusing to sign it because I believe its ridiculous , unworkable and unjust. If you want to have a go at anybody have a go at the KC and then have a go at the Clubs who have decided that they believe these conditions are acceptable, workable and enforceable. Well thats their perogative , all I and others now ask is that as a Committee they do whatever is NECESSARY to ensure every condition of the Undertaking is ENFORCED. For then and ONLY then will they have my respect for whether I agree with someone or not, I will always respect those who have the Courage of their Convictions and who keep to the agreements in the contracts they have signed.
So, to Andy Jacks texting fiend, get your facts right in future and remember I am merely the messenger not the instigator of the additional conditions the Clubs like Wales have signed up to with this KC Undertaking.

Sorry, I hope you don't all think this is a really stupid question, but I'm really rather new to the GSD world, and I'm a bit confused. Could somebody explain to me a bit about the difference between Alsatians and GSDs? I always thought they were the same, but I'm quickly gathering that they're not, so if someone could help me out here I'd be really grateful...
Thanks.
rebekha.yu are correct they are the same breed, but the alsatian is totally different to look at to the german shepherd dog.im sure another person will come on here and explain it better than me but here goes.my english is not too good.the name alsatian was used after the 1st world war for fear of using the name german.it derived from the place ALASCE,on the french/german borders where they 1st encountered the german shepherd dog.the ALSATIAN is a low to the ground, long bodied animal with short legs.its propotions are not correct to the standard be it as qouted by alsatianists as the uk kc standard.,fci (european and other countries)or sv(germany)standards.these standards do differ slightly but only in the wording and not re the blueprint of the animal.each standard states that the animal should be slightly longer than its height(proptions 10 to 9 or 8 and half)depth of chest 45 to 48 per cent to leg length of 55 to52 per cent.so the leg length should be greater than its chest.in the alsatian the proportions are greater in the depth of the chest with smaller lenght of legs.the toplines also differ.in a correct animal the backline starts straight from the withers, slightly sloping from front to back.in alsatians the backline usually is level with a dip in the middle and then a croup at the end.many alsatian toplines these days appear to me to resemble a table top with 4 legs at each corner.sorry dont mean to be rude but they do.where do yu live maybe someone could meet yu and show yu the difference at a local open show, that is if the gsd judge is an all rounder or from another breed and both types turn up.Carole.
As far as I'm concerned there is no such breed as an Alstatian, our breed is called a German Shepherd Dog and nothing else.
The name Alstatian came from a time when we were anti German and a war had just finished, and the sooner the KC loses this prefix the better.
Thanks for the link Vikk86... I've posted my comment.
I noticed in that link there's a comment from Harvey Locke from the BVA, who is my vet. He always expresses surprise that he only sees my two GSDs once a year for their booster! Weird!
