Mindhunt....I was going to move to FL at one point. Was afraid that my dogs would be eaten by gators.lol Moved out west where it is dry.My dogs and me are feeling the difference in the climate and elevation!! The dogs that were raised out here are ok but as for me and the one gsd...skin is dry.It isn't like in IL.There is no moisture here.My one client has moved from NY and her gsd is going through the same things with the shedding and dry skin. I don't like it but I love this area.
Don't know what to do to get his coat better.He is on good food and gets the oils he needs....don't want to move back to the midwest.Hmmmm just going to have a flaky dog.lol

On one forum I visited, the users came up with a great way to eliminate trolls. In any thread started by an offensive person, they would post recipes, but absolutely no replies to the troll in question.

Lavk9, to go with his flaky owner (just kidding). I had to supplement my dog with fish oil for his dry coat when I was in Michigan. My big boy is having some issues with the humidity and those rare days when it gets warm (we are experiencing one of the coldest winters, my family has lived here 25+ years). He has mild laryngeal paralysis, old injury (heat/humidity exacerbates it). My female is having issues with the humidity because of her left hip. I had to retire her at 2yrs old because her OFAs showed no left hip, no depression for the ball of the hip, only held in place by her muscles and ligaments. Its rough since she is a workaholic as is my big boy. I left my other boy behind with my son in Michigan since the boys have a mutual dislike going on. I plan on ocean swimming them at our local unofficial dog beach on the intercostal. As for alligators, just stay away from the inland lakes and ponds. Darn, means you'd have to live by the ocean.

I still want to train so I am hoping one of the clubs doesn't mind that I won't be entering any Schutzhund trials, just training for fun, to keep my edge, and my dogs occupied. I am also a poor grad student now so cost is always an issue. I will be getting back into the swing of it when I get another pup down the road but not for a few years.

Went off thread topic again, I am a bad girl.
