For once, the weather man was right-on accurate with today's forecast--- "WINTERY MIX"
Sounds beautiful, doesn't it, sort of romantic?
The first time I heard it, my native California imagination came up with a lovely scene: Big and small fluffy, cartoon-style snowflakes, alternating with a light, fresh-smelling rain, barely enough to cleanse one's lungs on a charming country stroll, decorating the landscape like the Burl & Ives illustrations on Christmas cards and coffee cups sold this time of year?
WRONG.
I hate PA.

Yeah, it finally started raining here the other day, so that drove the frozen temps away. Now we are in the 50's getting that badly needed wet stuff we go months without. It's as ugly as England here now, all grey and drizzle, like the clouds aren't really raining, they are just so low they are touching the ground and when you walk through them, you get wet. I like the more dramatic storms, big drops and lots of them, like God just opened up the sky and let loose. Throw in a little thunder and lightening to spice it up, but all is quiet and dull instead. Just enough drizzle to make my hair frizzy, enough that you don't want to go outside and play with the dogs.

Shelley---I can always count on you for a smile. Tell me..when did Currier & Ives merge with Burl? Was 'Rudolph....' on TV recently? (LOL). Shelley, write a book. You'd have a bestseller.

I don't know when Burl merged with Currier and Ives, but I DO know their images parted company forever in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.
Let's hear it for Maggie the Cat!
Does that help?
Who?
Huh?
Where am I?
Look out Moons. I'm heading your way very soon, and you ARE on my "In Case of Emergency, Call ---" list.

I go nowhere soon,
you know the place.
Keep the sun on your left,
with the wind in your face.
Christmas will come,
no need for haste.
Travel in safety,
travel with grace.
At the end of this journey,
a warm welcome place.
There you will find,
a smile on your face.
You'll find no mendacity there.
I know the movie, and remember Maggie well.

It's warmer now, finally...From near zero to almost twenty four..And snowing like a demon...I'll post a snowflake pic I took last night on my back porch, perfect snowflake...Too tired right now to bother.
Good night.
