WHO IS GOING FOR UNIVERSAL SIEGER?
USCA Universal Sieger 2011--???
WUSV Universal Sieger qualifier(s) 2012???
I sincerely hope that this can be a JOINT event. Is there any reason why this could not be held with the JOINT WUSV Championship Selection trial? That event is limited to 20 entries (10 each from USCA and WDA). Barring a sudden explosion of interest, the entries for the Universal Sieger competition would be about what is was this year, 'though hopefully, at least slightly improved. Say ten dogs (versus the 6 between the two organizations this year). That would make a trial entry of 30 dogs. Tack on a show and survey. It would certainly make the event more likely to be supported by spectators spending money on "stuff." Do-able or not?
Where is the WUSV Universal Sieger Championship next year, anyway?

The last message I was expecting to read from you is having to say good by to Juneau. He was a great ambassador for the breed. It was my great pleasure to meet Juneau and for Ule and I to have the opportunity to compete alongside you two.

The video was very inspiring and the slide show......well, the puppy pictures were priceless....great pictures, great music, great dog.
Now I go to blow my nose and mop up my eyes.....

The slideshow was absolutely wonderful, what a magnificent dog - really just magnificent. Your achievements together were extraordinary, he must have left a huge hole in your and your family's hearts.

Yes what a very sad occasion on which to to 'cross paths' again. Deeply saddened by the loss of this truly beautiful and talented dog.

You can spend 70 years with someone and have no mark left upon you to speak of.... yet 7 years, 7 months, 7 weeks, why even 7 minutes spent with someone else can transform everything you do....
I have long wondered where does breeding end and at what point does BEING begin..... the best that a breeder can ever hope for is to breed for a healthy, strong, psychologically sound, emotionally excited and curious animal.... but that is the end of what the breeder does and can ever do..... that does not make for a Universal Sieger....
It is then that the true work begins.... the kind of work that is performed by those of the likes of Pedro Jimenez, Karen Sinclair, Kevin Nance and Erin O'Shea.... some work alone for the most part like T Floyd,..... others work in collaboration with trusted partners....
A dog is not a machine that can be programmed for performance.... a dog like the GSD will work for a person it can trust and respect.... a person to whom it can connect.....
This is why it is easier to win placements in the conformation ring than it is in the working arena.....
I have seen many people who work their dogs who will say that they know what their dog is thinking and that their dog knows their thoughts.... indeed mine did....
My wife had a name for my dog, that she would use half in jest and half in seriousness...... "Chaklathi".... loosely translated it means the "Other Love" or the "Other Woman"..... I am very sure that mine was not the only spouse who felt challenged for attention by their GSD's
So the most important ingredient that I beleive is necessary before one can even think of pursuing this goal is.... this bond... crazy by all worldy measures, mystical and magical yet extremely down-to-earth and real.....
and this bond cannot be bred... it can only be built....
And once it is built,..... once you have tasted its magic... then from that moment onwards it has you in a grip that is the most powerful force on earth..... the two of you become connected forever and nothing is ever the same again.....
