Two Moons

Davren,
I have this life long dream to see Bali.
A Caribbean Island would do in a pinch I guess if I could avoid the tourists.
Maybe pilot one of those big twin engine cigarette boats like they used to use on Miami vice..LOL
Indulge in some sinful behavior of one sort or another.   Come home with no tan lines.
I truly love sun and water, I feel warmer just thinking about it.
Reminds me I should pick up some Buttered Rum for the holidays.

Shelley,
Thats wicked, I love it !
That little look back, over the shoulder, wondering whats next mom.
Sweet.

MaggieMae,
It all depends.
The dogs are in and out regularly unless one is kenneled for one reason or another, one is usually outside on guard duty day or night, they take turns.
They don't mind a cold night below freezing as long as its not wet or windy, they keep pretty cozy in their dog houses.
The ones who aren't kenneled sleep on the deck or on the ground around the house, they each have their favorite spot.
Bad weather brings them in, single digits also bring them in, they always let me know when they want in.
I don't like them going in and out a lot in winter, its harder for them to adjust.
Last winter when Midnite had pups they stayed out all winter, I can't remember the coldest temperatures we had last winter.
I can tell when they look distressed and keep a close eye on them when its a long cold stretch.
For the most part mine love winter time.
Its a judgment call on my part I guess, each dog is different, each situation is different.   I'd rather they stay out most of the time in winter but if its below 10 F they usually are in at night.   I really don't have a set time or temperature.
I've had dogs that never came in no matter what, with good dog houses and dry bedding they they do just fine.
Lately, the last few years I have began spoiling them more I think.
Best thing is to just keep an eye on them and know their conditions and behavior, they'll let you know when they need help if your paying attention.

Moons
thanks for the explaination about the geese hanging around if theres a food source.  The farmers have a lot of cut corn fields around here so there must be plenty of food for the geese.  I see a lot of them flying into the corn fields in the morning on my drive to work.  Back in October I saw more varieties of ducks on the ponds but now most of those have flown south.   I think the blue herons have too as I havent seen any of those in a few weeks.

Interesting. Some of my dogs like it out in the cold and inclimate weather, ask to go out and spend time in rain, snow, cold... Most don't for more than the time it takes to do their business and do a few laps, get good and wet, muddy. Pallo HATED any kind of precipitation, much like the Chihuahua, Xena.
BTW: Xena's "other" name is Rosemary's Baby. Don't let that sugar cookie expression fool you. I can't believe some of the stuff T puts up with from that little bundle of needle-sharp teeth.
All GSD's should have her natural, full, firm grip and retrieve drives.

Worried about sleeping through the alarm in the morning? No problem. Just set the Chihuahua. NOBODY could sleep through her charming and endearing full-face attack alarm. LOLOL

Shelley, she has got to be the cutest Chi I've ever seen.  Love the hairy tipped over ears, do  you think they will stay tipped over?  She  is really too cute!

Shelley, you probably never saw that coming, your current obsession with doggie fashion, that is. LOL Love the sweater, by the way, and with that attitude one knows she's got that "IT" factor, alright.

Snaiper, my showline adores the cold and snow. He gets excited by snow, he makes a good tear going around the yard and then we often see him  rolling in it, like it was sand on a Carribean beach. Makes me laugh when he goes to bury a bone in the snow. (I don't even own a crate!) He likes the fireplace too, and a cup of hot cocoa though when he does come back inside. Just kidding.

Xena's ears are standing now. Her coat is long in places, not in others, hardly any on her belly. She's in the string-y stage of growth. I have no idea where whe's going with this gorwth thing. LOLOL
It like living 50 First Dates, with an unfamiliar species.

Ronnie,
We're gonna all chip in and get you and Dinkie Electric socks for those freezing appendages.

And maybe something for Raymond.
