Mindhunt,
To answer your quote at the end of your second post, It depends if you are a good breeder or not, regards being called a Bitch
I never took your post to be a nasty one everybody to there opinion, and i am an Englishman living in Belgium

Sam1234
Yes, everyone has an opinion, you have just posted yours, I said i keep my dogs outdoors for one reason only , It is because i believe they are healthier living a life of fresh air, and it suits my dogs,
In the past over some 50 years or so i kept Border Collies and if you bring those dogs indoors within 10 minutes they are at the door wanting to go out, and i tried it with two Shepherds, both wanted to go out after a short time they could not rest in the house, and it was not to get  them to live indoors, not at all but just to let them have a break and as you say a bit of socalising, but they wanted none of it,
Now outside where they like to be, with me they are like Puppies it depends on how you bring them up I have said before
Dogs only know two things, Black and White, they like things uniformed in there life, give them that and they will be happy whether they live indoors or out

I am glad Steve1, one never knows how to take some of the posts and I have made what I thought were neutral comments based on my experiences only to have more than a few nasty e-mails sent to me. So I try to make sure the intended knows how I intend my comment. I absolutely love my queen bitch, and she can be a BITCH. Some day I will have to tell you my breeding philosophy (LOL). Dogs that is.

I have a highschool friend who graduated with me living in Belgium now. Interesting place from what he says. Last time I was there was long ago when the airline we used had to land there for a few days. I am sure it is different.

I have one male that used to spend his entire day outside, dig himself a nice hollow in a snowbank on very cold days (I had a nice place up off the ground and out of the wind for him but he didn't want to use it). I would beg him to come inside since it was below freezing, wasn't going to happen. Since he is now an older dog, he doesn't like the extreme temps and humidity as much. My female is like him. My other male hates to be outside unless I am out there.  Funny how they have different desires for outdoors. I am the good human and try to accomodate them.

I have lived in Belgium for four years now, The country is okay, rather flat, with onlt a huge canel called the King Albert canel
THere are no riversthat i have come across except in the Ardennes which is about 50kms from me where it is hilly with valleys and rivers, so the Dogs never get to swim
In the Spring it is nice being the fruit area of Belgium tens of thousands of apple orchards in bloom plus pear trees and Cherries, Plus a lot of Strawberries are grown here these  orchards surround the place where i live
, My nearest city about 8 kms from me is the smallest city in Belgium, every village has a church in it, thats about it, except it is a great place to train G.S dogs and race pigeons long distance
