"Educanine,
All you can say is WOW? Thank-you for you poignant and thought provoking contribution."
What should I contribute? You said yourself : I straight up don't give a sh*% what anyone else thinks or says. My feelings on this are intensely powerful and cannot be swayed.
Sounds to me like you just declared your mind as closed. In my experience a closed mine cannot be provoked to thought no matter how 'poignant' a comment. LOL."
My thoughts exactly. Isn't this the same Jodagirl that is apart of Steve Lino's crowd? If she is that'll explain why she's closed minded."
Here ya go ocoey, just like you said. A rebuttal from some dumb a-hole that hasn't bothered to read the entire post.
Hey djon mustard, or whtever your name is, try reading the whole thread before adding your two cents. You might discover that along the way excellent points were made that resulted in me opening my mind. Educanine didn't offer any argument or discussion that bore any relevence yet she was the first one to pop in and offer crow recipes. She didn't contribute towards my change of heart therefore her crow offerings will be ignored.
And my knowing Steve Lino doesn't have anything to do with this thread at all. You m@$&@)%(^#$& need to get over that crap!!! He doesn't control me, I am not a stepford girl. I have my own mind, my own thoughts and my own opinions, so therefore I can choose to change it if someone convinces me that I am wrong. Your petty bickering on the Alt Ostland stuff is sophomoric and stupid. Seriously. If you knew what it looked like to people who don't know any of the players, you wouldn't be so quick to chime in. You all look like a bunch of back stabbing, selfish children. It's really sad. Are you all grown ups or what? If you'll notice, I didn't get involved in that thread at all, on either forum. If you could just step out of the picture for a minute and look at it as an impartial observer you would realize how stupid that all is. Try that.

Looks like I got jodagirl's grandma panty got all tied up in a knot. Funny how one's button can be pushed so easily. I'm glad we have a little less hate in the world now that your views on another culture has relaxed some. How sincere it is, is anyones guess. You say that my bickering on another thread is childish but yet you like to make fun of my name. "Djon mustard". I'm sorry who's the child now? It's okay jodagirl I'll refrain from making fun of your weight.
As for saying that Educanine didn't have anything to offer in this thread why should he\she? When you make a moronic statement like "I straight up don't give a sh*% what anyone else thinks or says. My feelings on this are intensely powerful and cannot be swayed." There's no point in trying to change the view of an ignorant person but I'm glad you had a change of heart even if you think the majority of asians down from all asians engage or approves of those practice.
by ocoey on 24 June 2008 - 22:06
Djon, you said it! Ignorant people don't change their views. Funny way to compliment someone....
I'll give ya, name calling can be little childish but you have to admit the Dijon Mustard crack was a little funny. Sticks and stones....Joda took her lumps, can you?

"There's no point in trying to change the view of an ignorant person but I'm glad you had a change of heart even if you think the majority of asians down from all asians engage or approves of those practice."
You REALLY need to go back and read ALL of my posts. Once I decided that my position was wrong I never said that I believed the majority of Asians engage or approve of those practices. What I said is, and I quote; "I will consider that not all Asians condone the horrible practices used in the slaughter of animals in some Asian cultures." Explain to me how that translates into a majority.
And you're going to say something about my weight? How really f**king ignorant! You've never even met me so how in God's name can you say anything about my weight? Seriously? How tall am I? What do I look like? Am I black, white, hispanic, do you even know? What color is my hair? Is it long or short? You're beginning to sound really ridiculous now. You should stop writing before you really make an ass of yourself. OMG, I can't believe you would even try to say something about someone's weight of whom you have never even seen. THAT is truly immature. That's not even high school, that's grade school. Geez.
Oh, and are you going to slam Sunsilver too for her support of my statement on your bickering?
by Wildmoor on 24 June 2008 - 23:06
Hi Joda glad you changed your opinion as you cant generalise about the entire populations of 37 countries, I can understand some of your views re inhumane treatment of animals but it also still goes on in the Western World, the UK might have banned fox hunting in 2005, but it still goes on along with dog fighting and trapping using snares all illegal but still used, also what about Spain with the Bullfighting. Most cultures have inhumane practises it shows the need for educating people, especialy those in powerfull positions within these countries to try and change attitudes.

Ocey it was a backhand compliment. As for me rolling with the punches I'm not the one making racist remarks against another culture regardless if she conceded or not. The only reason why she backed off from her earlier remarks was the tongue slashing she got from others. Funny how they can turn about face when that happens. She said she hated the asian culture before and the research she did for her paper only reaffirms that. She's only sorry because she got caught saying.
by djon vouvjic on 24 June 2008 - 23:06
Jodagirl perhaps my remark about your weight was off base. I apologized for that. Your right I don't know you. Would I want to probably not... I guess we're both being ridiculous. All I said was weight and now you want me to describle you. Okay here goes...
- Hair color - brunette
- Age - early 40's or mid 40's.
- Race- causasian
- Height - between 5'4 - 5'6ish
How's that?
by jodagirl on 25 June 2008 - 03:06
Djon, and everyone else. When I first posted on this thread I was so emotional and upset over what I saw. It brought back all the stuff I ran accross during my paper. And yes, many Asian cultures do not put the same value on the lives of animals, or even people for that matter, that western cultures do. That simply comes from a different value system that has yet to, for lack of a better word, evolve or catch up to the 21st century. Every culture has its barbaric practices. Some are steeped in millennia of tradition and as we all know, old traditions can be very hard to change.
I will readily and willingly admit that I went off half-cocked and riding on pure emotion. I realized a few posts in that I had completely mispoke on a few things and had let my emotions dig me into a hole. Ocoey's statement was the slap in the face, the "hey stupid, quit being a dumbass" wake up call.
I honestly do not hate all Asian cultures. I just wish they had same better animal rights legislation similar to what other countries have adopted. What I hate, is that there isn't a lot being done to change things. However, because I love a good argument and have no problem playing the Devil's advocate, I let it go on. Some of you engaged in some very passionate and stimulating discussions and I enjoyed your intelligent posts. Some of you, well let's just say didn't have much to offer in the way of stimulating discussions, but that's o.k. no one said you had to. It's too bad some people had to get personal and bring up Steve Lino. He had absolutely nothing to do with the discussion, you saw it as another chance to slam someone. And then to say something about my weight. That was uncalled for and immature.
As for the slaughter industry, I am well versed in not only the modern procedures but also the history, and trust me, as bad as some modern abattoirs may be, they have come a long long way since the mid 1800s and the time of Upton Sinclair's book "The Jungle". For anyone to think that the modern American slaughter industry abides by all the laws and regulations is just wishful thinking, but there are abattoirs that do follow the rules and do ensure that everything works as it is designed and that the animals are treated humanely. My knowledge of the fur industry isn't as well versed. I came across some stuff about the fur/pelt industry while looking for information on livestock slaughter that was pretty disturbing and at the risk of being assaulted again, many of the worst offenders were in Asian countries, a plain and simple fact. It's not a racist statement when it's true.
So Two Moons, how many breasts of crow would I need to feed three people? Your recipe sounds tasty.

Can someone please explain what is the humane way to kill for dinner ? Just so I know.
