So I am curious as to what drive people think Javier's hold and bark comes from?

Only if you are impressed by a dog jumping up in to the air while guarding. He can get quite close to the helpers face, but, I think that it is, in the end, a lot of wasted energy when there are more exercises to be performed in this phase.

doesn't seem to me that Javir is loosing focus or energy during the B/H....Though as Sue has stated previously, and I agree, that Jimbeam's B/H is much better IMNSHO...

Does anyone know what Bart Bellon's dogs look like in trial when they are doing their bark and hold? I assume since he is very successful at giving seminars and well respected, that he has also earned the titles and points  and respect to be teaching those seminars. Which means that his dogs probably do the hold and bark quite well on a strong helper, in spite of being shaped at first with the ball. (I don't know personally, any one want to search videos out?)
I would also want to know if Javier's bark and hold was at all shaped by giving a ball in the blind? Anyone have an opinion?

well maybe so .. BUT .. another important consideration .... THE QUAILTY of the BITE !!!  .. this is one  main reasonig someone wanst to see FULL< HARD < FAST  BITES in Schutzhund [ or other sports]. the bite tells  you all about the dog
