Uber Land

6 litters in 20 years.

I am not ashamed to say most of my pups have went to pet homes.

I have produced 1 cert. SAR http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/german_shepherd_dog/pedigree/507684.html
A litter brother went to Nebraska to a beginner schutzhund home, we lost touch, whether he was titled or not, I don't know or care, it was the home he got that was important. another sister and brother went down to Lackland airforce base.

my first litter I kept back a male from V Baron v Lanzener Hof SCH3 IP3 x V Yaska v d Bollermuhle SCH3.  I trained him with a local schutzhund club till he was over a year,  then a family came alo0ng and I hought his life would be better and he would be of more service as a companion to a little boy with brittle bone disease, so he went as a pet.

I have had setbacks with my own health, and also setbacks, dealing with shit other breeders have pawned off on me as a "good deal".  my main interest nowadays is in herding, tracking and obedience.  bitework is too much for me physically. and before you ask where's the titles, I am working on them, slowly but surely.  I get out a little each day and mess with my dogs.  somedays I can barely do it, other days, I can work several dogs.

In much you say is correct, Now only just looking in on this thread for the first time this morning. i read your reply to Crys, You talk in a indignant tone as if everyone else is a stupid person.
These Breeders you are talking about who have bred dogs for generations, Well i guess then they are only doing it to Improve the German Shepherd Dog only,LIke hell' They have been breeding for generations and so they have been making Money out of it for generations the prime reason for doing it. So get off your high horse and say the truth of it, Bringing anything up in print may knock the Wallet, But Crys never said anything out of place at all
and one final thing, If some of the SL dogs you talk about had as much courage and brains as Crys 'Oakley 'has then you can start shouting, For if you have been looking in on this site for the time you say you have you would have known the Little Girl was Blind.

I sure have been lining my pocket books, last litter I had, pretty much gave away the pups, damn sure didn't make anything.  I love what I do, whether I breed the same type or style as everyone else or I don't

well, obviously from the look of Geck, everyone interprets the standard differently and has different views on how a gsd should look and behave.

by beetree on 10 October 2010 - 21:10

I don't think the Geck profile looks very wedge shaped, and I thought that was the standard?

That Venus is a fine looking Dog, and i know Zender probably better than anyone on this site and Kramer looks like his Father no question about that

Nature has produced some very efficient long distance running canines, and not one of them have backs like some our showline GSD's.  I haven't personally seen Gecks working ability, but if he can't do the jobs the breed was meant for why is he being bred?  How would those breeding him be any better than those breed for dilutes without any care towards workability and tempermeant.

I agree with Crys in that there is absolutIy NOTHING WRONG with owning a dog that doesn't comply with the standard.  I don't even mind if someone is breeding off standard dogs as long they have a genuine purpose (not cash related) , are being completely honest about it, doing proper health checks, and ensure their dogs go to appropriate lifelong homes.

The people who have dogs that are grossly outside the physical standard and couldn't do a job if it's owners life depended on it; the people who go around selling these dogs and their pups at top dollar as quintessential examples of the breed, are either disillusioned or crooks.  I would think that most anyone being honest with themselves would say that a GSD should not have more back/croup angulation than a Hyena (which isn't a canine btw)

I'm not saying that Geck is problem here as I honestly don't know much about him aside from his physical appearence.   But sadly you don't have to search very hard to find true examples.
