Sue B

As the question I asked below seems to have started all this can someone please explain the GREAT SIN I committed by askingit?

"Regarding Fun Long Coat Class, indeed You make a very good point Petowner. An added concern might be how will this FUN class be judged, the Funniest Long Coat i.e. the one wearing a funny outfit or with a funny grin or sad eyes and loppy ears OR the Best Constructed , Sound and best moving Long coat? In which case if it is the latter what part of that is supposed to be FUN?"

Obviously Kerry then came in being tetchy. Then finally gets personal - and in answere to your question Kerry, YES as soon as you got personal with me it gave me the right to get personal back with you. You want to know which Crufts Judge you insulted in your column , well suggesting had Zamp been handled by you the judge wouldnt have noticed or promoted him and then going on to say how much of a better job you thought you could have done when judging the Open bitch class was hardly praise and made that particular judge very angry but he too much of a gentleman to confront you personally about it, though his friends are aware of what he thought of your comments (by the way my female was the one who was 4th to your 5th). As for which league show you caused a problem at, was it not you who swore at the KC rep and caused bother with the KC for the cambridge committee or are you saying that is not the case and therefore someone else has been telling me porkies?

Missbeeb thankyou for understanding the reason for my original comments, if more people took the trouble by being prepared to read English then they would have understood the reason I was querying the FUN part of the long coat class, and yes to me and many others IT DOES MATTER HOW A CLASS IS TO BE JUDGED. Too many goal posts are moved during play these days.

Hope all enjoy their day,  I wish the League well as always, but still reserve my right as a long standing member to voice my opinion, the council are only there by election of the members and if partners etc are the ones coming on to attack on behalf of council members then this council has sunk to a new low.

Steve foran, you found my telephone number easily enough when you wanted my help re using Zamp at stud recently, surely you could easily have found it again to speak to me personally about this, obviously you chose to contact a friend to post this for you instead though since you couldnt post yourself, asking another League Council member might have been more appropriate perhaps. Never mind.

Regards

Sue

David, i applaud your sentiments regarding  making this show a great day, as one of the Judges i obviously have an added interest, but rising above that, Tony was mister nice guy ,personified and i personally  feel very honoured to be asked to judge this very prestigious show.  We ( who were there ) should remember, and relay to the newer exhibitors that when Tony was at his zenith as a handler and a Judge classes of 40 odd were the norm, both you and i were priviledged to call him a friend, and as i am typing this, my mind has wandered back to a restaurant in Liverpool , when Tony , Walter Martin,  yourself and Rhoda, Malcolm Griffiths, and my wife  Catherine and myself, dined and talked long into the night on every concievable subject,  when i took Walter back to his hotel, after thanking me for a good evening as he got into the lift he turned to me and said " Paul, what a nice guy Tony is "  i smiled and nodded my head,  " We think so too Walter ".  As the old saying goes , only the good die young, and Tony was too young,  so lets all pull together, so that if he is looking down on the day he will be smiling.

Regards.

LOL, thought I may pop along and see how the breed has progressed in the 4+ years since I last went to a show, seems not much has changed.

Sue, is al this over Fun Long Coat Dog class, I don't think so, I think there is more in this than meets the eye!

Sue everything you have put about me is completely wrong.  I have never ever sworn at anybody.  I never said about me doing a better job then Terry Hannan, you have made accusations about me on all fronts.

This is what I had written in April 2008 in the Breed Council magazine, word for word.

CRUFTS, what a day that was!  I thought it was brilliant and we all know why, VA 1 Zamp von Thermodos SchH3, what a dog, what a tremendous dog, I just wish he was mine.  If I die I want to come back and be born again as 'Lisa Dieterich'.  My photo of Zamp is no way as good as Lin from Fardogart Zamp photo's, but it's my 'Zamp in the UK' photo, one I will treasure.  Just like to say that Lin took fantastic photos of Zamp, it was like telling a story.

There was lots of people around the ring, a right buzzing atmosphere but Terry Hannan looked Cool, Calm and Collected.  And I liked his tie, a nice Barbie-Pink colour.  I must say, though, if Terry Hannan diddn't know Zamp was coming and I handled him, (I know, "in my dreams") would I have got BOB? Just a thought! (even though Zamp is an unmissable dog, there are still dogs in this country that pass the judge's eye due to not a well known handler on the end of the lead.  I feel it will never change, something we have to live with in the dog game i'm afraid.)  Anyway well done to Zamp for the CC and BOB and Champion Ice Von Steinhauerberg for the RCC, I know David and Rhoda were thrilled and Ch. Lararth Sassy JW on her CC.  What a day for Sassy, if only she knew who she was sitting next to for the photos.  I had to laugh when Zamp was a typical stud dog and checked out Sassy to see if she was in heat or not.  I though they made a great doggy couple together.

Our Rena came 5th which we were pleased with but couldn't understand why, when Terry Hannan seperated the class, he worked the front half of the class first and then did the second half of the class.  Rena worked her way up from the second half but then could not try for a better placing as Terry Hannan had already done the first half, I thought a Judge was supposed to work from the back first, placing dogs against each other working there way up to the front.  Not to worry I suppose, but that is the way I would of judge.   As for Zamp not winning the Pastoral Group, (disgusting, he should of won), MY opinion is that no German Shepherd Dog will ever win B.I.S at Crufts now.

Sue, as you can see, I don't think there is anything for Terry Hannan to get upset about, I don't regret what I have written from my article, and it is nothing like what you have stated.

I would like to say Thank You for not being anonymous as I did send you a personal email about your statement,  but you posted the same time I sent the email, as I diddn't want this to continue.  But you have made false accusations about me, I have now copied everything from this thread and it will be placed in the hands of my solicitor tommorrow, and see what advice can be given to me.

Oh Kerry grow up, solicitors, big deal, consult one, who cares, not me. And if you cannot see why Terry got upset about how your comments questioned his judging and to make matters worse you now go on to repeat those comments by placing them onto a website in the public domain then perhaps you really do need to seek advice from a solicitor.

Todays threats to sue anybody society makes me want to puke.... the typical action from people with no backbone for the truth. Threats, threats and more pathetic threats, did no-one tell you how the LEAGUE was only 6mths away from being deregistered not too many moons ago from similar type of lawsuit actions, some things never change do they. Hope you enjoy your visit and he doesnt charge you too much for the advice.

By the way I got your private email and was already preparing a reply to you, meanwhile got a phonecall from someone warning me about your latest post here, seems you couldnt wait for my email reply, so have scrubbed it as dont see the point in sending it now since you prefered to continue it here. .

Sue, I am not saying any more on the subject, continue if you wish.  I have got backbone and will be contacting my solicitor tommorrow, if anything can be done about this then I will continue and I have the funds to deal with it.  You are not blackening my character anymore which maybe reflecting on my Kennel.

Kerry I think you will find I have not blackened your character at all, but by repeating what you wrote it could be construed that you tried to tarnish the decisions of others. Enjoy your solicitors visit.

Kerry,  taking two sections of your comments in your BC mag column as you have reprinted them above:-

"I must say, though, if Terry Hannan diddn't know Zamp was coming and I handled him, (I know, "in my dreams") would I have got BOB? Just a thought!  "

You didnt consider this comment was suggesting the judge was only capable of recognising a dog as good as Zamp because of his  handler?

"Our Rena came 5th which we were pleased with but couldn't understand why, when Terry Hannan seperated the class, he worked the front half of the class first and then did the second half of the class.  Rena worked her way up from the second half but then could not try for a better placing as Terry Hannan had already done the first half, I thought a Judge was supposed to work from the back first, placing dogs against each other working there way up to the front.  Not to worry I suppose, but that is the way I would of judge."

You didnt consider this comment was questioning Terry's ability to judge and that you considered you could have judged it better? If not then obviously both mine and Terry's understanding of English (to name but two) is also in dissagreement with yours. So when you go visit your solicitor tomorrow please take time to point out how my observations were taken solely from the comments of YOUR own written word. Sue

Allo David, I agree with you Tony and his family would not want any of this bad feeling, Tony was a great guy, who never saught this kind of confrontation. I'm sure we will have many drinking sessions before we vacate this Earth. This is a time for calm and thought ,about what we say on this thread. Sue, this is about the League open show, not about who said, what about crufts, and a dog you tend to worship, its a time for control, thought, and reflection, on what is important to the show ,we all need to take a step back and think!!!! this is a show in honour of a great guy who we all loved. So lets all show some respect. Sue, Kerry, STOP IT!!!!!!!!! count to 10, and think!!!! we all sponsor shows, what goes around comes around!!  Sue, Kerry, Karen, and the judges would make a great foto for the Mag, to state we can all get together and put politcs to one side for such a great guy in TONY HOWSON. regards Bill Owen
