This is a forum for all G.S dogs and to me a G.S dog does not know if it is a show or working line in the normal run of life so they are a friend to the owner no matter how famous or otherwise,
Well said Steve,

What Sue says is very true   I will never be able to understand why ALL cant take pleasure from the others who enjoy this breed despite the fact they may derive their enjoyment of the breed through different avenues. The breed is meant to be capable of coping with all manner of activities, that the glory and the wonder of it's versatility. Be glad the many varied aspects of its abilities to adjust be it workability, tractability or sheer huggability still exists and glory in it rather than desparage it

Also
Their love is unconditional, can't help who owns them, or what path in life is chosen for them, it 's their versatility that sets them apart from other breeds.  It should be about owning the Best Breed in the world and enjoying the path you wish to take  and making it the best dog ever,  whether that be Show, Work, Agility, or Family pet etc.

So i am telling a lie, why would i do that, but I will tell you this, the first Showline Shepherd i ever saw, was a double world Champion, belonging to Robert Venus,  Belgium, He is a pigeon Fancier and i was visting him in the early 1980's when i saw this G.S and i said to Robert at the time and i remember it well
I said to him he is rather low on the hind quarters, does he have a joint problem, He said No' he is a twice world champion Show shepherd, he did say his name but that escapes me now, then he showed me his breeding females,
That is as much as i know about Showlines which is not much, I may have seen the word Zamp bought up on the forum but never  as far as i know read about it or posted on a thread other than the one in question, I may be wrong but i do not think so
Regarding this dog i am talking about perhaps some of you Showline fanatices can tell me the name of the dog i am talking about, you should remember it if you are as keen as your postings suggest

Bullshit thread, among many lately that I usualy avoid, but I'll chime in a bit.

Hm... The, ahem..."ultimate" German Shepherd is a dog that:

Wins BSZS (or places very high, not necessarily wins)

Wins BSP or a WUSV competition (or places very high, not necessarily wins)

is KKL1 for life

gets along great with its owner/handler and that encompasses all that it entails

is a willing, happy worker

is healthy in truest sense of the word

has a nice, healthy coat, regardless or color

has excellent hips and elbows and last but not least

is able to give all these traits to its progeny.

That is the ultimate German Shepherd Dog. We haven't seen the likes of him since the days of Bernd and Bodo Lierberg and today or tomorrow doesn't look so promising either. The guy shown up is an excellent showline dog.

Fantastic reading, what beautiful photos, a once in a lifetime dog for Lisa,  and what a lovely girl she is.
Liz, thank you for championing Zamp in this thread, as I said to you once before, quality will always out, and Zamp is my hero! Each to their own, but when quality of this degree is on show, it breeds envy, and envy talks rubbish! Zamp is the ultimate, and he will be remembered long after many of todays cheap champions have won their titles, both through his progeny and his presence.

Steve, I didn't call you a liar, I called you a "MAN"!!!! LOL Don't take it too personal, okay, you could be the exception, I'll grant you that, but most men I know can never find anything even if it is directly under their nose. Kind of like the many mentions of Zamp on this board that you never saw. I believe you never saw them, because, like others of your kind, "MEN" it just never hit your radar. Have a nice one Steve!

Lets us here from you knowledgable Showline People, What was the name  two times World Champion owned by Robert Venus Belgium in the 1980's
Some of you must know, you keep putting out the merits of the showline Shepherd,  how good are your memories or do you take as much notice of what goeson in the shows as you make us others believe you do

I believe it's Uran Wildsteiger Land (or maybe a son of him), not 100% sure, as (I hope obviously) I do not pay attention much to showline dogs. The dog in question that started the thread does indeed seem to be a very nice showline dog.

Now, Steve, how come Degens and Nena were not in the Belgian qualifiers?

My god. I think we should stop fussing over the small shit and realize that some dont know who he is. Hell. To be perfectly fair, I know very little to none of the renound working line dogs as my life generates around the west german lines. Were adults here guys, if youd like to keep it off topic then please take your overly defensive antics elsewhere. I for one would like to see what others not involved in this arguement have to say, perhaps not adorn nor critique, and if they dont know Zamp then a simple "Nice looking dog" would do. I just feel this topic was meant to show that he was a great dog and those who disagree or are here to argue should click the back button.
