Your not even close or havent bought a pup latley there are many breeders who sell limited with the option to go to full, Maybe your just 1 of the backyard owners that don,t know the difference? 1 litter a year of quality puppies is better then litters and litters of alsoran...

Offering a pup or dog with limited regs has nothing to do with honesty, unless your not honest about the reason for purchase... this merry go round will go on and on, LynOD you have a good life and better luck next time with your dog purchase, and thanks for taking good care of the dog no matter of it,s health issues.

 Hi Bob,
I bought a nice pup a yr ago. I'm not sure what a backyard owner is. I'm well aware that  there are many breeders that sell with a limited reg., it's not for me that's all. If the pup   turns out to be a shitter do i get my cash back?  Here's a few breeders that see many dogs so you can understand what i'm saying,

Hey what do you think happened to my post??  I guess listing all those health issues about my dog got it deleted for fear I would give up the breeder.  Not my thing to trash  people like that like I said sometimes shit happens on both ends.  This was not intentional on the breeders part just bad luck on mine!

Another thing to ponder is when you buy a pup from a litter where they are sold with limited registration,  is it protects YOU and your investment in your puppy, assuming you are acquiring the pup to work and hopefully title and make him all he can be.

Fictious Example: Let say I get a pup from the "Z litter". I work hard to train him and title him, get a show rating, OFA him, Koer him...wow, he turns out to be drop dead gorgeous and resembles what a GSD should truly be. But, another pup from that litter was sold to someone, who didn't care or know about all of that "fancy stuff"..and at 10 months old starts allowing that pup to breed toeverything and anything that walks on four feet. Hips were never done, he is being bred to nerve bag females who also have not had hips xrayed....he is littering your local area and maybe even your training groups with awful belly crawling crippled puppies. Better yet, an owner of one of those pups come onto the PDB and whines and cries about the BYB puppy she bought and needs advice and help for everything wrong with him...and now everyone sees his pedigree.

Now guess what? It's a small world...people are seeing the crap my pup's brother is producing..and now I couldn't wish for anyone "reputable" to even think about breeding to him. His reputation for what he can produce is ruined. I can't even use him myself, and hope to get the pups into good working homes. All because the entire litter was sold with full registartion by a breeder who didn't care preserving the hard work that went into those bloodlines.

It could happen and does...

Only once in a great while do I sell a male pup with full registration...it is extremely rare. With female pups there are no exceptions, as I greatly worry about where they might end up. Even the most thoughful responsible dog owner could get a female pup from me, hit their head, forget who they are, a family member sells the dog ( not knowing I would jump skyscrapers to take her back) and now she ends up spending the next 6-8 years pacing a small filthy kennel popping out puppy after puppy. Nope...not gonna happen.  Get adult OFA's, put some sort of title on the dog..agility, obedience, schutzhund, heck even flyball!! and I will gladly switch it over to full registration. You bought a pup from me because of the hard work I put into proving and caring for my dogs, I expect you to do the same if you are going to breed something with my kennel name attached.

Can anyone delete posts or just administration??  Strange. Let's see...

I bought a top quality workingline pup.  I spent hours upon hours training her only to have to retire her before I was able to title her due to her health issues.

EPI
Severe spondylosis in her spine
Pannus
A mildly dysplastic right hip

Yes all these health issues in one dog.

Buyers beware!!  You breeders aren't the only one who have to worry, I did my homework asked all the right questions the dog had all the proper certifications checked references.  I didn't get my money back even though the dog was not able to perform the tasks for which she was purchased originally.  Like I said shit happens on both ends!

My dogs are all spayed/neutured by My Choice not from someone holding a limited registration over me.

I sell on umlimited registrations . I have sold one or two with full registration. One such person disappointed,, me like above stated..and went right out and bred the dog and I have even had one erase the block , initilal it with my name and lie to AKC>.Of course , they know me well. so all I did was send the contract they bought thedog on and proof of the purchase and papers were issued with kennel name in place and on a limited registration..

I have seen many things done dishonestly on papers..

Moon:   Yes a third paper can be used, but now we have DNA. All one has to do , if you suspect a rat in the room, is request with proper documentation a DNA test..

That stops most dishonest people . MOST>>>>>not all.

More and more of conscious breeders limit the paperwork.   It is funny that 1/2 of some of my litters, akc papers are never submitted anyway..I have to hound some buyers to get them sent in..SOme don't want akc registration anyway.  Just a well bred healthy smart gsd that  does come from a good standard breeding. A breeder may also register the pups ahead of time ,now , at a discount which keeps the pup from any dispute . Anyone not abiding by the rules, need go somewhere else. I have never lost any sale because I use limited registration.  Only two that later did the dishonest turn around..That is people for you.

A lot of my pups have started Schutzhund training and for many reasons  dropped by the wayside. Limited reg, has not bearing on sport enrollment , in fact , many people have titled dogs gotten at pound and mixed breeds.
