Gator,
may want to check with Mittelwest, I heard last summer that she has a pup there that she sent to a vet in Ohio I believe it was. to have one testicle lowered. he's suppose to be one of the top repro. vets around. from what I've heard very simple procedure, think dog was shown a month later with both down.

Update/conclusion:
Yesterday, I spoke to my breeder on the phone. She was a sweetheart and I couldn't be more pleased with my breeder and the ultimate resolution.
I had put off contacting her for several days, because I didn't want my emotions (temper) and lack of knowledge about the subject to cloud my perspective and I wanted any resolution that we came up with to be fair to me, as well as my breeder. Additionally, my pups health was uppermost in my mind and had to be my priority and focus.
Last week, I had contacted the veterinary college in Washington State and talked to a BOARD CERTIFIED Veterinary Surgeon, who I figured would give me the straight talk about the issue with my pup. I also took my pup to my local vet for examination. Bottom line, the ring has closed, my pups testicles will never fall and he will eventually need to be neutered. I will hold off on the neutering for as long as I can, to allow for his body to mature. While I was not looking for a "pet only" dog, if his present attitude about life, lacking further serious health complications, I think he will be a fine pet. Sometimes life just isn't perfect, but if it continues, it's still a win.
During yesterdays conversation with my breeder, it became apparent that she was sincere in wishing to do absolutely anything that I desired to resolve this matter. I found her very caring, concerned and accommodating. It was clear to me that she wanted to do whatever I wanted for me to be happy. I actually believe that she would have agreed to return the full price of the pup, but I wanted any resolution to be fair to both of us. I asked for half of my money back, she immediately agreed to send me a check.
I also informed her that I intended to take the pup in for prelim ex-rays regarding HD potential and she immediately offered to provide me with a new pup, at no cost, should the prelim indicate joint issues. She didn't believe he would have HD, but she wanted me to know that I would be taken care of and not left out to dry and be without a healthy dog. I will not be required to return the present pup, ever, and I will be provided a female of my choice.... not pet quality, but of solid and a pedigree acceptable to me.
So, I guess I could have been a demanding jerk, I am very capable of that, but it was never necessary. She was very accommodating and in my view, fair, concerned and a sweetheart to me, just as she has been throughout my dealings with her.
Some may figure that I should have gotten a better deal, well, I likely could have, but as a client, I am now

Some may figure that I should have gotten a better deal, well, I likely could have, but as a client, I am now satisfied.... and for me, that is the bottom line.
I want to thank many of you on this board that have helped me understand and learn some important lessons about this wonderful breed, it's breeders, and it's problems. I still have so very much to learn... and I will.
So today, the second day of a new year..... ~Life is good~
Gator
p.s. I am personally worn out over this subject for now, so that's it folks, there is nothing else to share at this time.

I'm so happy to hear the breeder stepped up and was willing to do the right thing. I think you were more than reasonable and fair to her by only asking for 1/2 of the money back. She was probably delighted with that deal. It's fair for both IMO. I still think the pup was wayyyyy over priced and even $2000 was way too much given the circumstances BUT you are happy with the dog, minus his slight manhood imperfection LOL and the breeder appears to be respectable so it was a happy ending thus far. AND....you learned a few things along the way that I'm sure will help you be more consciencious of your next dealing with buying a dog from the next person.

Gator I have to ask, what did the board certified vet at WSU tell you about age and the chances of your boys nunners dropping? It was many moons ago I had called too and remember whoever it was I talked to had said 9 months. Its like carved in stone on my brain! LOL! So curious what this guy/girl said.
PS So glad your breeder is treating you good! Might not hurt to post who they are....

That's a pretty pup, Gator. I know of a holistic vet who recommends waiting until age 4 to neuter (even with undescended testicles). I believe somewhere between 18 months and age 4 would be best advised.
Good for you for working things out with the breeder. It seems as fair as it can be. Good luck to you and Falco!
