Maybe Pam at Von Hena-C doesn't work her dogs,

BUT, I just bred my bitch to Xander Von Hena-C and he has his Canine Good Citizen, BH, & Sch1,
Xander is OFA Good & normal elbows.

and is working towards his Sch2 & 3, he is of Pam's breeding, Xander is really nice looking and has
alot of drive, I have his daughter Tessie, she'll be 2 in Feb. she is a beautiful girl full of drive, I am hoping
she can be the first dog I get a Sch title on, so far I just dabble in the wimpy titles, CGC's, CD's certifiying
temperaments, and last but not least.......the wimp'est of all, pet therapy!

Oh well, I guess that's just me, I like dealing with Pam & her friend Lori cause they have been very honest
and up front with me......

Oh no.......................I feel like an idiot now..............................

mirasmom sounds like a great breeding..Sorry to all the nay sayers re: Pam,,maybe she doesn't work her dogs, there are many breeders out there who don't do crap with their dogs and their buyers don't either.  Alot of pam's dogs have more titles than most. I haven't met one of her dogs with a bad temperament.    And as for the comment "she routinely breeds dogs before hip certification"...I think I read somewhere on this board that poster had one of Pam's dogs,  so I guess it was ok to get one from her which they kinda failed to mention.

With that said, I've been very happy with my male out of pam's male, he's 12 years old and hanging in there. I would have no problem getting a dog from her.  All I can recommend to people looking for a puppy, is go to those kennels, check out their dogs and form your own opinions.

For the volume of dogs she has, I would go so far as to say "many of them have more titles than most".

I just prefer a breeder that works their dogs, preferably with atleast the GOAL of titling, even if they never do. I think it is truly the best way to get to know your dogs, inside and out.

Additionally, I prefer a "smaller" breeding program. Not multiple breeding females, all un-trained and un-titled, and even more that get farmed out to pet homes and brought back to the kennel when it's time to be bred.

I never said anything about them having bad temperaments.

I've heard great things about Vom Banack and Schraderhaus

Pharaoh

by Pharaoh on 07 January 2009 - 07:01

My pup Pharaoh is from vom Banach and I also spent some time at Jean Schrader's place.

Both places had really nice well cared for dogs.  Lux and Aron are both truly magnificent high drive studs.  Both kennels have really nice females.

It was almost a coin toss as to which kennel that I got my pup from.

I am very happy with Pharaoh.

Good luck in your search.
