Nope. 6 weeks, 12 weeks or 12 months, all the same unless before 12 months of age, someone has altered the dogs natural behaviours. It's OK, not everyone can imprint well or raise a pup the right way, but the dog comes out who he is and what he is, from day 1. Depending on who raises/handles/trains that dog, you will get a different outcome. So if you are picking great pups and not making it to the podium, maybe your not a podium handler or you need to rethink your training help, don't keep blaming the dogs. There are no magical dogs (the one) that will take a bad handler to the Worlds.

you are correct, there are no pefect dogs only perfect training.  and i know what i want to see in a dog to go w/ my style of training, and for me to enjoy training that dog. 

for some reason i get the feeling that there is more to getting to the podium than a good grip and prey drive. 

Just don't ask me anything about tracking  . My style of training doesn't include that. LOL Though I do believe my new pup would be super at it. Anyone care to handle my girl in Schutzhund? I just can't force myself to do it!

Perfect training? I,d pay BIG money to see perfect training, does it end when you walk across water or just turn it to wine?
