Boxers are frequently brindle, and as I said in my first post on this subject, I can see boxer in her.

Biyu,

Are you thinking of the "dorsal stripe" ?

My dear boy would probably eat pads &/or tampons too if he got
hold of them... instead he specialises in eating poo-bags !  You
know how if you get one out of a bunch in your pocket to use, how
because they are flimsy, one sometimes flies away ?  Taz is always
willing that to happen so he can pounce;  or if he finds one someone
else has dropped.  Only 'empties' ! and he leaves other small plastic
bags alone.  Go figure.

I see Boxer, and/or possibly Black Mouth Cur, and that would be my story and I'd stick to it.

Bitter Apple doesn't work for all dogs--some of them actually seem to like the taste.  Best product I've found so far has been something called Pet Botanics Bitter End spray, made by Cardinal Laboratories--be forewarned, it will make YOU choke if you catch a whiff of it when you spray it.  As with Bitter Apple, it doesn't work for all dogs, but I've had good luck with it for dogs that seemed to like the former.  Amazon carries the Pet Botanics spray, as do pet stores.

You need to be very careful about her eating non-food objects such as feminine hygiene products--bowel obstructions are very real, very dangerous to the dog's life, and very expensive to resolve.  If you don't have a crate for her, get her one yesterday, and use it whenever you can't watch her like a hawk.

Re getting Jenn to let you know when she wants to go out--for 'silent' dogs like her, try stringing together a few sleigh bells [can get those @ craft stores] and hanging them on the handles of the doors.  Whenever you let her out, encourage her to nudge the bells with her nose or paws before you open the door, so she learns to associate the action and sound with the result. Makes it a lot easier when you have one of those dogs who will sit quietly in front of a door and stare at it as if that alone will cause it to open [I've got one of those myself].

She is a super-cute pup, and clearly you're besotted with her--as would anyone be!

We got a crate the day we got her but she is allready able to get stuff out of the garbage bin (I watched her once) and mom thinks having her sleep with us is better then in the cage also thinks having her in the car is better then in the cage (she does LOVE her carrides!) but she still dosent know the word and ATM you need to direct her twards it and she will go in with a little effort

I personally think in this instance training her to "potty" is kinda stupid but that's just my choice of wording and I have another dog (elsewhere) that I know *anyone else* says outside he will get excited and bark or wine and that I say it *nothing* and its taken a while to keep that way that happens when I say "door" tho (cause I garden so if I say "I'm gonna go outside and look at the garden" or that bad point for him to get hyper but afterwards I can ask him "do you wanna?" And he will bark once then I'll say door and he gets excited --it's kinda funny in its way

Also another thing mom acts like a 5 yearold with her at times (ok nearly all the time) she was doing it with Jen chewing her shoes I just said "leave it" or "knock it off" it that and she stopped for a bit I didn't get a high pitched voice and fuss over how work wouldn't like it and that maby that's the difference? I don't know but I think she knows she is my puppy and she is generally a really good puppy

Yes please be very careful with her eating sanitary products. My mix Maggie once got into the trash in the bathroom. Which is kept under the cupboard with the door close. Guess we left the door ajar and she went snacking. We didn't realise anythign was wrong for about 2 days. But one morning when she refused her food, and even spat out a scoop of canned food. I know she was dying. Cause this dog could suck the chrome off a steel dish to get every last crumb.
Well when they opened her up she had two tampons and some bailing twine from a hay bail in her guts. Completely stopping anything in her gut from moving. $1500 later she was back to her old self. And i never had another sanitary problem again.
And on male Am Bulldog ate green bamboo. Same thing blockage. Only he didn't show problems until it was already too late. Had surgery and he died 2 week later. Too much kidney and liver damage to survive. And a $2500 bill that i just paid off. :(
Be careful

I think my uncle said something like by the time he got one dog paid off another needed something or it died or that? I know we've had a few things and the toy slipped a disk (WELL after Jen was over there tho she didn't play with them that time) so he is no more but we still have har and he wants to play with Jen lol

(One dog had a tomour rare to the breed I just know she wasn't acting like herself and I remember taking her in another couple I don't remember what happened with them but we don't have them any more one had hip issues and was older to start with (but had the teeth of a 3 yearold!) so I think that's why that surgery wasn't opted for tho he was great (all purebreds Harley was the first mutt in the family then the toy and now Jen)

Well uncle has seen Jen lol he wanted me to let Harley out and we had Jen in the car --so why not? Then he came home and spooked both of us but I heard the garage which I guess mom wasn't even listening for lol I don't know what he thinks she is tho mom bolted so didn't get to say much

For the sake of your pups future, I would try to leave the pit label out.
WAYYY to mjch ignorance out there regarding pitbulls, evem though they are sweet dogs by "nature".
And when is a beagle/pug cross become a puggle and not a bugle?

by Biyu on 12 June 2013 - 21:06

The question then becomes what if a cop thinks she is one (with the law--)

But my mom ill bet still thinks all pits should be killed simply because of what people have done --she also said dobermans had a rep like that and I grew up with one never had issues with her!

by Biyu on 09 July 2013 - 23:07

I know very old lol but mom is calling her a cur after deciding that's what she looks "just" like people still think she is a pit looking at her (said have put boxer and a bit more lol)

I guess she showed a cur (black mouth) and Jen pics to someone who claimed they couldn't tell apart at a glance
