Pirates Lair

Harddawg-

- We can get old fashioned or we can get really old fashioned. Either way, I'm pretty sure that "Shiloh's" don't look like old fashioned GSDs.

I don't know how you found a picture of my Pirates relatives.....but please be careful how you talk about them.

LOL

I am starting to believe that  .........." You Actually Own a GSD"

Unlike..........what I suspect 90% of the people on this  Forum ..........don't!

It's late.......I have to spend some time with my Pirates and go to work, no time to be an Internet Research Dog Trainer.

I'll check back with you in a few months.

ps; I agree with everything your saying!!  I think you may know what your what your talking about?

Harddawg, if I didn't kow any better I'd say you are DELIBERATELY misunderstanding me. Wink Smile  I didn't say the Shilohs looked EXACTLY like the old-style German Shepherd I was familiar with. They just looked more like it than THIS does! They had a structure that to me, was much stronger, sounder and more appealing to the eye. YMM may vary about the 'appealing' bit...but even some GSD people have remarked over what a nice looking boy my puppy's sire is (second picture.)

Here's my pup's mom:   Can you tell from a casual glance that she's NOT a GSD?  Oh, wait: not enough angulation....  That was one of the things that drew me to the Shilohs: nothing was extreme, except the size!

they look very shepherdy to me.............except of course their size but at least none of that ugly roach backs of german sl or over angulation of american sl.

I thought that originally larger dogs were used in the breed, originating from the Swabian/Wurtember shepherd dogs?

Personally I don't like your dogs looks.  It looks fat actually both of them do.  When I first started looking for my first GSD I stumbled on the Shiloh's and what it looked like (and still does to me) is a money grab by breeding over sized GSD calling them something else, trying to control who, what, why, where, and when can they be bred and having to pay fees back to the "creator" of this breed and her registry.

Whiteshepherds, the Malamute was used; but their ears were to soft.

:) Thanks Peaches, I was referring to the original GSD's, not the Shiloh's. Sorry for not making that clear.

No problem, whiteshepherds.
