To go back to my post which got lost...

About 12 years ago I switched breeds and went to Bouvier Des Flandre's. I have had much of the same successes with them that I did with GSD's. The difference is I have found the Bouviers to be much healthier as a breed. More stable metally and sounder structurally.

My thoughts on reading that post are, 'too bad, I guess he got some crappy dogs.'  Or maybe like me, he doesn't line the structural changes and lack of drive that is showing up in the German showlines. Who am I to criticize him for his choices? He didn't come on her with all guns blazing, shouting ALL GSDs are CRAP!   And if you think the GSD as a breed is perfect, and can't stand to hear anyone say different, you are really deceiving yourself, and need to take a good, hard look at things. I know one lady who left the breed when her  American show line dog broke a leg running down a hill. Am I going to blame her for leaving? Heck, NO!

Now, for the other side of the coin. There are times when people on this board have said such hurtful things about my dogs that I've been either furiously angry or even in tears Sometimes I've had to step back and leave for awhile. Eventually, I've come back, because in spite of all the rudeness and nastiness, I have learned a LOT from this board.

We are very passionate about our dogs, regardless of the breed. But as the OP on the thread I linked to states, passion does not excuse rudeness and nastiness.

And, yes, if you're going to post with passionate people, there are times when  you're going to need a thick skin.

I have seen enough attacks on new people and nasty comments on this thread. I have locked this thread and a few people need to really think about their comments and how they treat new members.

Thread Locked.
