Nona,
Just let it go.  For once let it go.  We have all posts being deleted, except when we stay on topic, and discuss dogs and remain polite.  Funny how those posts are not being deleted.  The thread about your pictures being deleted probably did you a favor.

"and you are touting dogs that produce this fault in males, and you critize Geck for his huge, square, masculine, beautiful head ?!.."

Masculine--check
Square--check
Huge--double check
Beautiful--Ha, on a St Bernard

People admire him because of his head. Geck has 108 comments on here. Many are from people who own his pups. They all say how beautiful thier dogs are, and how HUGE thier heads are, and how great thier pigmantation is. Not one talks about their dogs working abilitiies. Why? Because it isnt their main concern or rather they are not concerned at all.

"The breeding of Shepherd dogs must be the breeding of WORKING dogs."

Have you read Geck's Koerung ? ..so the judge was wrong or falsify the paperwork, the same as Geck is a Sch3 ..so they just gave them the Sch3..that is what you are saying..you were there, right UberLand??? Maybe So...

Wanna talk about great breeders? Read what this guy has to say...

To earn respect, you must first give respect to the dog!

Hauptzuchtschau Ulm 2009

63 males and 49 females
failed in protection!!

Most of them where SchH:II and III dogs!!!

Integrity question to SV judges who titled these dogs....

HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE??

IS IT POSSIBLE DEAR JUDGES THAT...........

YOU ARE BLAMING THE SERIOUS BREEDERS, HANDLERS, HELPERS AND OTHER JUDGES?

Special for the DUTCH COMPETITORS
Qualified dogs from the Netherlands: 34% of the males and 25% of females failed!!!!

QUESTION:
HOW WE CAN MAKE THIS BETTER FOR THE FUTURE OF OUR GERMAN SHEPHERD?

OR IS IT ALREADY TOO LATE!!

This proves my opinion that these lines and the politics cannot bring us usable working dogs!!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If I believe what anybody has to say, its this guy...

And nope I am not a great breeder or Trainer or any other kind of expert for that matter....but it doesnt take a genius to see the downfall of this breed.

Randy -- The fact is that there were many RUDE posts that were personal attacks on Nona and not offering her any helpful advice in a polite way.   Yet, the Moderator LEFT THE RUDE POSTS ON THE BOARD -- when Nona defended herself against the "obnoxious people" who were attacking her, the Moderator then went after Nona and deleted her Posts.

Moderator -- you have some "impartiality issues" that you need to sort out in your head; if you cannot be impartial, then, IMO, you should resign your Moderator position.

I think it's wasted breath, KellyJ...

Apparently huge heads are what some folks want.  After all, what is the standard?  Just a suggestion of how Herr von Stephanitz would PREFER that his breed look, but it is more important for people today to go for whatever their individual preferences are, and to hell with that old man who dedicated his life to creating this breed.

Look at Horand.  There were huge mastiff type breeds around then, but Herr von Stephanitz didn't want that.  He didn't want huge, oversized, overdeveloped dogs, which is why he selected for what he selected for.

JDiaz brought up the Koer and the SchH3...I didn't touch that one, because it's been a hot topic of discussion on this board for some time, the "midnight trials" where dogs get their titles handed to them, the favorable Koer reports that are bought and paid for.  The political pressure that gets such dogs top billing when they can't work at all.  You talk about the mono/cryptorchid conditions linked to Bravos and Mark, and other dogs...Want to bet Geck has never produced a single one?  That there is not a single case of anything being produced by him?

And there's another point, too...Everything is always blamed on the stud.  What about the dam?  She provides 50% of the DNA that creates that puppy...So she is every bit as much to blame for faults as the male.  Temperamental faults, color faults, structure faults, mom has some blame too.

"The breeding of Shepherd dogs must be the breeding of WORKING dogs."

True.  However, let us not forget that von Stephanitz also put up a dog that was a total spook as the World Sieger in 1925 - a dog that was quickly dumped off to America shortly thereafter - because he felt it necessary to address what he felt were serious confirmation issues in multiple lines.  There are also reports that some of the earlier World Siegers selected by von Stephanitz weren't exactly ideal from a working standpoint either.

The Captain was also the person who came up with the Sieger show in the first place.  And I seem to  recall reading that at least twice during his stewardship of the breed he found it necessary to re-open the SV stud book to incorporate unregistered herding dogs to compensate for growing weakness in temperament and working ability.

The bottom line?  Nobody is perfect.

do an internet search, you'll find my website.

why so upset diaz?  was that your ad? do you have a Geck pup?  you seem to be taking this quite personal.

And I wouldn't own Vegas either.  you speak of the american dogs, the german showlines are going down the same path, just with larger heads.

and like KellyJ pointed out, just cause a dog has a title does not mean he earned it.  how many times has he qualified for a SCH3? at regional or local level?  has he competed against workinglines at these trials?

sorry, my opinion is still that he looks like a big, lazy, cumbersome dog.  nothing in his pictures makes me believe he is a herding/working dog.

Slamdunc,
What are you talking about? I have several post on this thread and ALL of them are in reference to THIS topic. So where are you coming from with your request? No sarcasm intended....   I will say this and that's it.....The thread with the pictures WAS NOT MY thread......Some hijacked that thread and redirected it on me......We know what happened than.....That thread before it was hijacked, was very helpful to the OPster, my daughter.  She was actually enjoying the SINCERE and HONEST opinions and suggestions she was receiving.....That went downhill when someone decided to turn that thread into a NONA roast because of their personal vendetta against me....I believe now we all know about the moderator and what happened with that.......His actions speak louder than any deleting or editing he did, or will do.......

Ok, now I will let it go.......Hopefully everyone else can too....Thanks for all the PM's and support both Rutavehauskfk and I received.......  More people than not, witnessed what went on, and probably will continue

PEACE....

Uber Land,
If you have been breeding for 20 years, what have your dogs accomplished or your breeding program?  Just curious?
