I say if you are going to get on a plane to go to any competition, it doesn't really make that much of a difference where it is - east or west.   And the Ohio venue is better for the competitors.  As a competitor, I would vote for Ohio - even if I lived out west.

Aw, somebody likes me!!!    It'll pass (LOL).  And I didn't say you said that, I wrote that it sounds to me like that's what you are saying - that's the impression you're giving me.

And I'm jes' sayin' that "east of the Rockies" does NOT equate to the Eastern HALF of the country.  Eastern 3/4, sure, and then it makes more sense that more events would be held East of the Rockies.  Hey, I think rotation is the best solution, and most equitable for all as ensuring that ANY event will be extremely inconvenient for the majority of Americans (LOL).  

TX is definitely in the West - try telling a Texan he's an Easterner and see how far you get.  Considering where Maine ends, Iowa falls pretty much in the same boat.  Iowans won't like being told they live in the "Eastern half" of the USA either.  Cuz they don't.

zdog, very funny.  I'm with you.  As long as we're arbitrarily picking mountain ranges, far too many events are held west of the Appalachian Mountains.  Since the Apps are much older and more venerable than those whippersnapper Rockies, they should be given precedence in all geographical decisions.  

I propose having Nationals in Boise, Idaho.
There are but two USA clubs there with a total of about 12 or so people between them.
This way it will be inconveniently located for almost every single person in the country!
There will be no complaining by one region over the other as to how difficult it will be to get there because it will be difficult for everyone to get to, including those in the Pacific Northwest Region.
Then we can move on and get to what many members feel is important, getting USA back on track and headed in the right direction before, as Jim Morrison would put it, "The whole shithouse goes up in flames!"

It appears as though there are a lot of people that want to effect change.
That is, hopefully, good.
If so, do your best to get a delegate from each club to the GBM. Every single club!!!
Start talking to your club members now and find out a way to raise the money to get your club's delegate to the GBM.
Contact other clubs in your region, especially the smaller, or less well funded clubs, and see if they need help.
Molly, as a person entrusted with a leadership role in your region, this might be an excellent task for you to take on, as well as the other regional figure heads around the country.

As we all know, talk is cheap! Put your words in to action and make it happen!
This way, if we get every club represented at the GBM, regardless of outcome, we will know that the entirety of the clubs in USA has a voice in the direction of this organization going forward and/or failing.

That is true. That must be the reason nobody cares to make it convenient to 1/4 of the country EVER. 

Yes, Steve - I and others are working hard on that, and have been.  Getting delegates to the GBM is the next step and most important of all!

Molly its good to see you are so passionate about the changes. Not sure if it is too late as many people were
forced to make decisions. Sadly (JMHO) everyone just sat back and did what they loved competed - paid dues and trained. While they were doing that the executive comitee was busy at work. Are the members to blame sure to a degree. But HELLO we all have full time jobs, train and lives...and now this has turned into a huge mess.

So choices had to be made.  We have a business and clients want their dogs titled and we need our dogs titled and like to compete and go to club events etc....

It is not easy as you know running a kennel, training dogs, and trying to make money doing it.
Then to have to deal with all this political bullshit who has time for it?  Reading all these bylaws traveling to vote.
If I get a shower in its a good day.
Molly and Pia I admire your dedication and hope all your efforts payoff.  Change is a good thing !

In the mean time we have bills to pay and need to title dogs for our customers (really Mark) but we need a sound organinzation to help us meet these goals and help us and our customers have fun.

Lucky for us we have T Floyd and Carlos within 2 hours to help us do that with their clubs and events.

Anything worth while isn,t easy, we all have jobs 7:00 am to 5:00 pm daily 5 days just to be able to do the things we enjoy. not counting the work that has to be done on the weekends and still train our dogs and support fellow club members and a orginization. Life is tuff all over you make of it what you will.
