LAVK-9

Sorry Robin for your loss of Chulla.
I have to say I am not a show line GSD person but if I were to get one it would most likely be from Kelly's Boudi and I trust that whoever she breeds her to will be a great match. Also I do like Cuervo that Robin has. No offens to the others about but I have not met you nor do I know you.I do know Kelly and Robin and their dogs.....also Judy K. She has a few pups now that are nice.

I have to agree with several of the others here and say I would not recommend buying a dog from Zdenek Blabla of Alpine K9.  I sadly made that mistake.  I paid $1975 for what I was told was an AKC registered puppy with a Pohranicni blood line.  What I received was an severely emaciated pup, only 9 pounds at 10 weeks old, you could see every vertebrae in his back as well as ribs and hips, had a bacterial eye infection, hookworm and tapeworm, giardia and has had chronic diarrhea since I got him despite treatment for all of the above.  I have to have him evaluated by a veterinary specialty clinic because he fails to grow.  At over 4 months he only weighs 17 pounds and is not even a foot tall.  He also has no AKC registration papers and no pedigree.  The sire and dam of the pup hadn't even been registered with the AKC.  When I tried to talk to the owners of Alpine K9, Zdenek Blabla and Debra Erlinger, all I got was a bunch of excuses, then they blamed me, then they hired an attorney to threaten and bully me.

I investigated and discovered that Blabla had his AKC privileges suspended for ten years back in 1999.  He just had them reinstated in June 2010 after paying his fine and the expiration of the 10 year ban.  His privileges were suspended due to failure to comply with the recordkeeping and identification requirements of Chapter 4 of the Rules Applying to Registration and Discipline.  He started this new company, Alpine K9, in 2009.  It is a Limited Liability Corporation and he lists Debra Erlinger as the proprietor.

I'm not giving up and I am taking further legal action.  I don't know if the pup will make it, though.  My regular vet has referred me to a specialist suspecting pituitary dwarfism, or his growth was stunted by the severe malnutrition.  I've never seen a pup as skinny as this one was.  Blabla's excuse was that it was a large litter.  Even so, then the breeder has to do supplemental feeding, you can't just let the pups starve.

I am saddened and sickened by this whole experience.  I formerly had a wonderful dog from the Pohranicni blood line and had been so excited to get another.  What I got is a nightmare.  Blabla claims he will refund my money if I return the pup.  However, I cannot return a dog to someone who had not taken care of it and I also have no reason to believe he would return my money even if I did.  If he were really honorable, he would return most of the money and let me keep the dog since he can't re-sell it anyway and what does he want to do with it?  I have all vet records as evidence of the dog's health and condition.

@Shilohgdrescue

Have you made Mr. Blabla aware of the claims that you are making here?  There was another thread here recently in which a person made a number of serious charges against a well known kennel which, in the end, appeared to be entirely fictional and fabricated.  In that case the person who had an extensive list of grievances apparently had never had any dealings with the kennel she was assailing.  Without substantial evidence to support your claims I would have to dismiss your story as not being truthful.  Sorry, but I have too recently witnessed an entirely fabricated tale being presented as truth.

I understand that the individual you are condeming here has a very good reputation, although I have no personal familiarity with him.

Wow the prices you people spew about..  Not buying a damn car.. The most reputable breeders I know of Have to be the Greba's Richard and Melody..They breed under the name Vom Reichtal Their dogs are always titled sch3 with certified hips and they work their females as much as the males and title them as well. Not just sch 1...They raise and train 99% of their dogs from pups. Richard has been a breed warden for USA for years and his wife and he are both great trainers but even more important are Great people, Honest and truthful as well as fair and just. Their prices for pups from their sch 3 females and top sch 3 males are no where near the prices we talk about on here and are proven combinations. They give a tremendous guarantee and treat people the way they want to be treated.

There are plenty of good breeders in your area that would either ship a pup or let you pick it up. Your problem is that you want an older pup that you don't need to do the grunt work with (housebreaking). Most breeders don't have nice pups around for a long time. They are either sold quickly, or in case the breeder keeps a really nice one, are only sold later because they no longer look to have as much promise.

You have a dilemma: either you buy a really nice puppy for a reasonable price or adopt an older rescue dog for much less. 6 months to 2 years is the period people might usually be working with a young dog they want to keep. If they take the time to raise it and train it because it was a top pick puppy, I hardly think they will let it go for less than $2000.

Anyway, you if you don't trust anyone, you have to go out in person and see the dog and the owner before you buy it. Unless you do that, or get good recommendations from third parties, you are going to stay dogless.

If you want to get something good, you are not going to get it for almost nothing. And if you think you can trick someone out of a good dog, you better know more than they do. If you're going to continue being cheap and not do your homework, you will get screwed again.

If you already travel for your job, why not just drive out and get the damn dog?!

(Yeah. People talk. Eventually stories get around. If you keep screwing with people, no one honest will have the patience to deal with you. You are better off just checking with some really good kennels in places where you most often go, get to know the people, and maybe something might eventually come up. You are wasting your time on this PDB unless you like trolling polluted waters (all you honest folks not included.)
