Well I used to be an EMT and S&R for a while too. This your last post I tend to agree with. Especially your sentence: "The pup should be checked out for certain." (By vet).
That is all I am talking about too!!!
I am not saying that the pup is not puking because he ate grass. But megaesaphogus is a life threatening condition. Puking grass is not. Thus megaesaphogus must not be downplayed and must be eliminated sooner the better. That is all I am saying. Eaten grass shows in the puke. So that is easy. Covering pups nose as I described above is also easy. Both points are valid. I tend to eliminate the most dangerous possibility asap. And that was all I was pointing out up in this thread because nobody else did up to that early point.
I just hope that people learned something from our bickering here. That 's all.

In any case, hopefully the owner will get a good vet to look at the pup. The issues of what causes gastric torsion are unknown, the rare studies (I know only of three) have been flawed and are of limited value. None the less, it makes good common sense not to feed or water a dog after or before heavy exercise and to feed a quality diet. I am not one who believes that raw is the answer. But we can differ on that issue as well.
Finally, there are several reasons why flies would lay their eggs in a piece of raw meat, none of which have anything to do with nutrient value particularly.
In any case, we can always agree to disagree and you have good experience, but so do many others here.
Best wishes.

Have you ever tried GAVISCON? It will help your indigestion. As for posters coming here, posting and running, never to be heard from again, it happens. So don't fret. This person likely was not in the U.S. Hopefully, he/she took the pup to a vet. We can all agree on that!
